cisono Posted 7 September 2005 Posted 7 September 2005 Just saying, I'm no longer English Ehmm tonight I am very happy not to be (or ever have been) English ...
Fox 4 Life Posted 7 September 2005 Posted 7 September 2005 And whats his issue with Hargreaves - is he his little lovechild or something - he is **** crap - why would you take off lampard to bring this clown on! fock off sven seriously, fock off and give us a chance of winning the world cup!
Muz Posted 7 September 2005 Posted 7 September 2005 What shite that was. Ive got tickets for the Poland game at Old Trafford. Yet too miss a home qualifying game. But im not looking forward to it if after tonight's showing. Gutted that Norway did'nt win
Gené and Tonic Posted 7 September 2005 Posted 7 September 2005 If your gonna take off Lampard when your one nill down, at least put on another attacking player Jenas would have been good.

Head Honcho Posted 7 September 2005 Posted 7 September 2005 A World Cup with no British involvement is a real possibility now!!
Fox 4 Life Posted 7 September 2005 Posted 7 September 2005 just realised i did it twice!!!! O'neil get him in!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!
Stuliasz Posted 7 September 2005 Posted 7 September 2005 Tonight has made me do a complete U-turn on Sven, he's gotta go, give another man the last two qualifiers to get into competitive games with England and then give him the World Cup. We clearly aren't gonna do any good, sack the swede.
Fox 4 Life Posted 7 September 2005 Posted 7 September 2005 Cook the swede do whatever just get the mug out!
Gené and Tonic Posted 7 September 2005 Posted 7 September 2005 but d'you reckon the fa will have the guts?
Mark Posted 7 September 2005 Posted 7 September 2005 Multi-Million Premiership players play 4-5-1 against football league and lose. We take our best attacking midfielder in Lampard off for an ineffective defensive midfielder Owen Hargreaves. Our tactics where shit.
Fox 4 Life Posted 7 September 2005 Posted 7 September 2005 No way the FA will not, if Sven had any decency he would quit. But again we know that wont happen!
Samu Posted 7 September 2005 Posted 7 September 2005 What I have a particular issue with tonight is why we keep swinging balls into the box, head height, like Owen, Rooney and Defore (3 smallish strikers) are gonna win them all. I know Heskey gets slated a lot but at least he was good in the air. Yes sometimes Rooney is not bad in the air but it's certainly not the right tactic to play when Owen and Defoe would definitely prefer the ball to feet. I think it's time for Sven to leave
Thracian Posted 7 September 2005 Posted 7 September 2005 What a f.....g disgrace. Can't say he's got no brains because he's persuaded the FA to pay him millions for boring us to death. I didn't want him in the first place - I always wanted an Englishman - and in the last internationals he's taken ineptitude to new levels. Somehow he's got his tactical theories stuck up his tight arse. Ask yourselves: Given a team which could include Owen, Rooney, Beckham, Lampard, Wright-Phillips and Gerrard would ANYONE choose a neutral/defensive formation. I know I'm spiritually committed to attack but with those players attack would surely be the only option. And as a coach you'd think it was Christmas cos I reckon you could average four goals a game. Mind you for all their superstar status I'd still play a big man up front. I almost always would. Spirit was lacking too - well it would be with that seemingly soulless jobsworth. Had that been a war all the England players would have been dead. They had all the techniques, all the sophisticated weoponry but no bloody passion, no blind self-belief and no idea what they were trying to do. Watching the matchlessly talented Rooney was like watching a fish stranded on the sand by the tide. England should have streamed forward like men possessed and rained shots on the Irish goal like bullets from a kalashnikov. Instead they just went through their pretty pattern coaching routines and travelled nowhere in particular except straight down the street of shame. And if the team had anything to do with the 4-5-1 idea then they've got the answer to what was their undiluted arrogance. That is "stick to playing cos your tactical knowhow is non existent." If Sven has any decency (which is probably debateable) he will fall on his sword tomorrow morning and sod off back to Sweden. Even as a winning manager I don't want my nation's team playing like car sales demonstrators.
Libertine Posted 7 September 2005 Posted 7 September 2005 Becks was good tonight, about the only player that was. But there was no-one with passion, because the manager has no passion.
Nationwider Posted 7 September 2005 Posted 7 September 2005 Somehow he's got his tactical theories stuck up his tight arse. No doubt we'll get the usual party-line from the Ericsson-Beckham camp tomorrow. What bewilders me is the way in that he appears to be so bereft of ideas, tactically, when the bleedin' obvious is staring him right before his eyes: England play far better with a 4-4-2. Did he not watch Euro 2004? Rooney should play slightly behind a main striker in the above formation. Beckham is the new Gareth Williams - yeah, he looks good, but what does he actually DO? Players play better when they play in their natural positions, where possible. I feel that he (SGE) has lost the confidence of his squad, if not before, then certainly after this match. No amount of bullsh1t from Beckham can disguise this. DB knows he's out on his ear if/when the current management is removed. For the love of god, will someone please make Sam Allerdyce the England manager with immediate effect. ....and not that snivelling zzz-monger of a FA-coaching turd, Steve "kill me I'm so dull" McLaren, or his sister Alan Curbishley.
Fox 4 Life Posted 7 September 2005 Posted 7 September 2005 No way Beckham was the only player who did anything tonight, I hate all the shit people give him, he is a class player!
Libertine Posted 7 September 2005 Posted 7 September 2005 No way Beckham was the only player who did anything tonight, I hate all the shit people give him, he is a class player! Exactly. He has been poor fo a while, but the past 2 games when he's played in the centre he has been great.
