Ric Flair Posted 12 November 2015 Posted 12 November 2015 He's certainly got to grips with PL football now after a bit of a ropey first 6 months. To think he's only had a weeks rest and then gone smash back in to this season is remarkable. He's been performing better than Huth in my opinion and although they're not faultless as a partnership (we do ceoncede a lot of goals) they are ticking along quite nicely for us. Let's see if they can still do the business throughout December and January which looks horrid on paper.
(.) (.) Posted 12 November 2015 Posted 12 November 2015 He's not in the Jamaican team for no reason .. He's earnt that spot If I was a pro footballer I'd get in the Jamaican team.
blue army 1988 Posted 13 November 2015 Posted 13 November 2015 Certainly stepped up his game from last season. Really pleased for him as he's a great guy
Fox92 Posted 13 November 2015 Posted 13 November 2015 He has been impressive so far. Certainly stepped up but I do think playing alongside a defender such as Huth helps a lot.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 13 November 2015 Posted 13 November 2015 Stepped up similarly to how Ashley Williams did for Swansea. Never played at this level before, struggled a bit to start with and is now looking rock solid again.
Dickov22 Posted 13 November 2015 Posted 13 November 2015 He has been impressive so far. Certainly stepped up but I do think playing alongside a defender such as Huth helps a lot. Or could it be the other way around considering Wes has been miles better than Huth this season?
Len Finsbury Posted 13 November 2015 Posted 13 November 2015 Could have been dropped and possibly sold last season without too many protests but has really upped his game this season. The cynics will say that the 'goals against' column doesn't point towards our centre halves playing well but that's unfair. He's certainly earned his place every week with his performances.
Fox92 Posted 13 November 2015 Posted 13 November 2015 Or could it be the other way around considering Wes has been miles better than Huth this season? Yes he has been better than Huth this season, I didn't say any different, but playing alongside Huth is better for Morgan imo and that's the point I was making. He started last season alongside a player (Moore) who would be looking to Morgan for help and experience where as with Huth they both have it, especially with Huth playing in the PL for so long now. And being a solid PL defender too. You can see Morgan has more confidence again now. During some games this season he has taken the ball down and played his way out of trouble like Beckenbauer.
NewburyFox Posted 13 November 2015 Author Posted 13 November 2015 The thing which impresses me most about him now is his touch and composure. He's always been strong, good positionally and read the game really well but now he's so much better on the ball than he was last season, let alone compared to when he joined. In the Watford game there were several times when he controlled high balls and laid it off, rather than just heading it up the field, and his pass in the lead up to Vardy's penalty too was inch perfect. Keep it up Wes
Guest Posted 13 November 2015 Posted 13 November 2015 Or could it be the other way around considering Wes has been miles better than Huth this season? We've not seen Morgan play well in the Prem without Huth there to cover for him.
