StanSP Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 Leeds and/or Newcastle. Had some great nights out in London but not so great for the wallet.
lestajigs Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 Blackpools always a good jive, but best city I go for Liverpool, haven't been Newcastle though
Rincewind Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 Or carried coal there. http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/carry-coals-to-newcastle.html
Guest Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 Quite like Newcastle but as a real one off. Would find it a bit overbearing going out there on a regular basis. London there is most definitely something for everyone but if you dont have much knowledge or experience of the place you can end up stuck in an unsuitable part of town for your night-out preferences. Someone voted for Leicester It's not bad. I like it for pubs and bars but dislike Leicester for clubs. If going clubbing in Leicester best off on student nights not weekend fight nights.
pSinatra Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 I'm a bit older (a lot older) now & not really interested in clubbing anymore. Just got back from a few nights in Liverpool with the missus & had a great time. Went in a load of pubs, some 'old man' pubs, some trendy bars & everything inbetween. Enjoyed them all & the Scousers are a friendly bunch. We could go out in Leicester & not speak to another person all night, but that never happened anywhere we went in Liverpool.
ScouseFox Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 Liverpool is the best place for everything in the world. Anyone who disagrees hasn't been. Simple.
Guest Manini Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 It's between Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester for me. Liverpool probably just shades it over Manchester and Leeds comes in a respectable third. All brilliant cities with plenty for everyone and good atmospheres, some of the bars in Liverpool on bold street etc are on another planet. Newcastle isn't the nightlife Mecca everyone makes out...
Lionator Posted 9 November 2015 Posted 9 November 2015 I'll bump this, I had a very bizarre experience in Leeds on Saturday. We were denied entry to 3 bars purely on the basis that we were male even though we were in a group of 4 lads, 2 girls. When we questioned the bouncers about this we got dragged away. Then ended up in a club called Space which wasn't really our scene, lots of drug dealers walking around outside unchallenged and lots of people obviously high inside. I got a very intense vibe about the city, basically the complete opposite of Sheffield where I go to uni.
