ousefox Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 With the 'match officials performance' it's difficult because the ref was good but linesman has arguably cost us the game.
hornyhollthefox123 Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 Kasper 6.5- Good save from mane. Distribution fine with one poor one. Simpson- 7 defended well. Very solid if not spectacular. Couple of very good last minute tackles. Huth - 7 decent effort , him and Morgan kept Pelle pretty quiet. Morgan - 6 lost Fonte for their goal but otherwise ok. Fuchs - 7.5 defended well against Mane , arguably one of the most in form players in the league. Great left foot too. Albrighton- 6 worked hard and delivered countless numbers of crosses. Kante - 6.5 quiet for first half but came to life in second half. Crazy ability to win almost every 50/50 Drinkwater - 6.5 similar to Kante in that he was quiet first half. Good second half display. When he plays well we do Schlupp - 6 didn't get a chance to do much. Nothing disastrous. Okazaki - 6 like the guy but slightly ineffective yesterday. Vardy - 8 as in previous weeks - so much energy and willing. Got his goals and arguably could have had 3 or 4. MOTM Mahrez- 7.5 just makes things happen. So dangerous and changed the game with Dyer. Dyer - 7.5 see Mahrez. Both deserve huge credit.
NewquayFox Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 First 10 we were great then fell asleep, last 45 we were magnificent and could have won but a draw was a fair result. Poor game for Okazaki and I think the knock on Schlupps head affected him (10 stitches) both full backs played well but Wes & Huth look very sluggish and are poor at defending corners/set pieces (Ulloa is handy in those situations) Drinky (needs shooting lessons) & Kante both played well but felt Albrighton was a bit off the pace today. Vardy was fantastic and is becoming unplayable for defenders in this form. Ranieri's subs were excellent and both have to start next week.... Thought Southampton were poor and their fans rubbish..... Up the City......
Bettsj2 Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 First half was pretty much 5's all around. Second half was 8's and 9's. I can remember us battering a team the way we did. Not just with hassling and pressing but the football we were playing at points was sensational. If Vardy scores that cutback from Mahrez its goal of the season. Absolutely sublime build up play. I cant think of a defender in the league that can cope with Vardy in this form. Simply sensational. Palace are starting to look vulnerable. If we start with the team that finished, we could batter them.
Rasmic123 Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 With the 'match officials performance' it's difficult because the ref was good but linesman has arguably cost us the game. ref was good but i also feel like they should have had a few more cards than they did, they made countless professional fouls and got only two yellow cards. Apart from that though, the ref definitely cocked up less than most we've had this season. Liner cost us though, anyone could see it was offside
NewquayFox Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 Agree with Rasmic, never seen a team foul so much in their own half and only get 2 yellows all game, and as for time wasting.... Aaaaaargh!!! Up the City....
shen Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 I am certainly getting more and more biased when it comes to Okazaki. He runs around a lot, but to very little effect. He's not pedestrian but he's not exactly quick either. We should have better options than him in Mahrez, Dyer, Kramaric or Ulloa.
Dan Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 Schmeichel - It's a fair criticism of his failure to come off his line for crosses, and I do think it costs us. He did make a good save but he definitely has room for improvement to his game. No idea what he was playing at for that chance Mane had at 2-0 too. 5 Simpson - Thought he was similar to the Norwich performance. Gets a nose bleed when he enters the opposition half but has been defending pretty well. In the incident mentioned with Schmeichel, it was his interception that stopped us certainly going 3 down, so fair play for that. 6 Morgan - Fonte completely lost him for their first goal. Don't think his all round game was too bad but he's far from faultless. 5 Huth - Doesn't look the same player in a four at the back system unfortunately. He wasn't noticeably bad but there's something missing. 5 Fuchs - Pick of the defence by a mile. He was very, very good. In both an attacking and defensive sense he was competent, looks to have a real sweet left boot as well. Very nearly MOTM. 8 Kante - Not quite as noticeable but I thought he played well. 7 Drinkwater - Pretty much the same as Kante although his shooting was embarrassing. 7 Albrighton - Thought he did quite well but nothing too eye catching, similar to the last two. 7 Okazaki - He isn't a poor player but he doesn't seem to be remotely threatening, although I get the hint he is there to solely win free-kicks and disrupt the opposition. I feel for Ulloa but I can see why he's in there. 6 Schlupp - Didn't really do anything of note. 5 Vardy - I actually thought he'd had a lot better games than that, but once again he made the difference with his goals. I just cannot believe that player who looked out of his depth for large parts of the 2012/13 Championship season has become this. Absolutely brilliant. 8 --- Mahrez - Thought he looked very good as per usual. Regular threat with his mazy running. Wouldn't look out of place at a top side. 8 Dyer - Criminally under-rated player. He's the complete winger. Get him signed. 8 --- Ranieri - Questionable organisation from our set pieces (which he's got some responsibility for) but yet again didn't piss around with his changes, and yet again got them right. He's retained the character this team had under Pearson and has added to it. It's still early days, but I'm becoming quite a fan of his. 7 Southampton - Impressed with them in the first half, but thought they got a bit cocky in the end. The likes of Pelle and Mane are excellent when it's going their way but when it isn't they don't look like they want to know. 5 Officials - Thought the ref got most things right to be fair. Did think he was quite biased towards us but at the same time I think we've finally developed the knack of winning clever free kicks, something that we weren't good at last year. Linesman's had a mare for their second though. 6
Guest Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 Ranieri 7 - Wasn't enamored by some of the first half tactics but he made effective changes again at HT. Long live Don Claudio. Kasper 6 - usually shaky stuff on the whole lack of command.. one good save though. Whole defence 6 bar Fuchs who I give 7 for another solid game. Whole starting midfield 6 bar Drinkwater who I give 7 - man having a great season. Shinji 6 Vardy 8 - Tireless effort as usual and 2 good finishes esp the header. Only misses out on 9 or 10 for missing a sitter and another decent chance. Subs Mahrez 7 - effective once he came on. Looked class at times. Dyer 8 - turned the game. Brilliant cross for Vardy's first. Southampton 5 Ref 6 Stay OBV
ThaiFox Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 Ranieri - 7 - Made the right changes at the right time. Not sure why he's playing Huth & Morgan together, or why he continues with Okazaki in the starting line up. Schmeichel - 6 - No fault with the goals. One great save which went for a corner they scored their offside goal from. Must command area better and must put a man on each post at set pieces. Simpson - 7 - Thought he played well. Was solid and allowed little to get past him. Also, saved Kasper's bacon with a good tackle on Southampton's only second half chance. Huth - 6 - Not the same player without Wasyl by his side. Don't think he's a good paring with Morgan. Had great chance to score too after some good skill. Morgan - 5 - Ditto Huth. And why does he bother going forward? And why does he try to play it out from the back? His reading of the game is just too slow at times. Fuchs - 9 - My MOTM. Brilliant left back. Cultured, great left foot, long throw in's are a real threat. He was involved in so much and no-one looked like getting past him, or get crosses in. All the worry from right sided attacks has gone with him. Better and best left back since David Nish. Albrighton - 7 - Worked really hard, chased back, put in lots of crosses, some excellent. Just needs Ulloa to get on the end of them. Drinkwater 8 - Slowish first half, but totally bossed the second. A goal line clearance and a rasping shot well saved showed his work rate. A great paring with Kante. Kante - 8 - If he makes a bad pass he just wins in straight back! He is everywhere and is working well with Danny. This guy should turn into a fantastic player. Schlupp - 5 - Didn't make much impact at all this week. Vardy - 9 - First 10 minutes was great. Then went into England mode until half time. Second half he remembered he was playing for a Leicester and was awesome. What a shame he missed that great chance as he fully deserved a hat trick and it cost him my MOTM! Okazaki - 5 - Can see why Ranieri plays him as he works so hard, but Ulloa should play with Vardy if CR wants two up front. Also Ulloa is much better when defending corners and free kicks. With Albrighton, Fuchs, Dyer, Mahrez in the side, Ulloa must be played. Subs: Mahrez - 8 - Some sublime play. Really makes things happen. Dyer - 7 - Fantastic cross for Vardy's goal. Good work rate, never gives up. Hope he signs for us after his loan runs out. Southampton - 6 - I thought the looked nervous of us, and rightly so! Officials: - 5 - Terrible decision for second goal. Not too bad otherwise.
Steven Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 I am certainly getting more and more biased when it comes to Okazaki. He runs around a lot, but to very little effect. He's not pedestrian but he's not exactly quick either. We should have better options than him in Mahrez, Dyer, Kramaric or Ulloa. Iain Hume?
shen Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 Iain Hume? Hume at least had a good shot on him! Okazaki doesn't have the skill to go past players, doesn't have the height or speed to get into good scoring positions and he basically just harries and holds the ball up (with moderate success). I can see the argument that he allows us to deploy further forward, but surely Kramaric, Mahrez and Ulloa can do eactly the same and carry more of a threat at the same time.
Guest MattP Posted 20 October 2015 Posted 20 October 2015 Ranieri 6.5 - Corrected mistakes again. Kasper 5 - Rooted to his line and lucky to get away with kamikaze charge out second half.Simpson 5 - Tadic had the beating of him most of the time, unable to stop crosses coming in and not much use in defending them.Huth 6 - Still doesn't look as good in a back three as a back four.Morgan 6 - Same as above, this is something we have to sort out as we will go through a dry point scoring goals at some point.Fuchs 7 - Best defender on the day, won't lose the LB spot.Albrighton 6 - worked hard and delivered countless numbers of crosses.Kante 6 - A real mixed bag, incredible energy and effort to win the ball back but then gives it away far too much after doing so.Drinkwater 6 - Shooting was terrible at times but him and Kante do look like a partnership that can develop, far better second half.Schlupp 5 - Didn't really do anything, time to give him a rest I think.Okazaki 5 - Rightly taken off at HT.Vardy 9 - Where would we be without this guy at the minute? Brilliant.Mahrez 8 - We have to find a spot for this guy in the team, he has too much ability to be sitting on a bench.Dyer 8 - He looks a real find, him and Mahrez turned the game and gave Vardy the supply he needed.
