coalvillefox Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 I know that 1st - 3rd is Champions league but what else is on offer for 4th, 5th, 6th etc and what bearings does a top six team winning a cup have in league qualification?
The Doctor Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 1-3 - group stages of champions league 4th - Final qualifiying round of champions league 5th - Europa League group stage 6th/7th get europa league qualifying places if the fa cup and league cup are won by a side already qualified through the league, and if England tops the fair play league then the fairest team in the division get a europa league qualifying place.

Been doing a bit of research as I am getting married in July and I have a feeling it will be around the same time as one of the matches which would be an absolute disaster! Seems quite confusing
LJS Posted 20 December 2015 Posted 20 December 2015 4th is the final qualifying round but it's likely to be a tough draw. Champions of the smaller leagues face one another whilst the rest play amongst each other which means we'd face a top side from a relatively big league. Some winnable ties in that but you'd rather not risk the early exit. That round takes place in August so you're okay to be getting wed. The honeymoon on the other hand....

WesMorganGod Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 1 - 4 is Champions League. but 1-3 is into the actual Champions League group stage, and 4th we will have to play a 2 legged match vs someone in europe to get into the Champions League group stage.
Will1981 Posted 21 December 2015 Posted 21 December 2015 we dont want 4th place as we will probably not be seeded and draw a team that finishes 4th in spain or germany.. the only time Everton qualified for the champions league in 4th they drew Villarreal and got destroyed. also if you finish 4th and then lose in the champions league playoff you get put in the europa league group stage.
