Flyfox Posted 20 March 2016 Posted 20 March 2016 I like Stringers commentary, it's far superior to a lot of dross elsewhere. The fact that NP had the @rse with him means very little given the fact that NP was capable of falling out with his own shadow (a decent a manager as he was). I sit fairly close to the media guys, rest assured, Stringer is genuinely gutted or elated depending on the result.
wurmer Posted 20 March 2016 Posted 20 March 2016 I wouldn't worry about it, IF (big if, one game at a time) we win, the national media will be all over us. RL can then go do one.
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 21 March 2016 Posted 21 March 2016 Obviously it doesn't come close to being the same but they can use interviews from other BBC outlets (5Live, MOTD, EMids etc)
Rincewind Posted 21 March 2016 Posted 21 March 2016 Thought it was just Stringer they had a problem with? Pearson did not like the players being interviewed because of awkward questions. I do not mind Stringer. He is passionate and has supported City from a young age. I know someone who is blind and a fan so the radio is the only way for him to follow the game. I have not been listening to it for a couple of months as I have been streaming but I kinda miss it. I don;t know where I'll e for the last game but if the team have the title sewn up I would like to listen to what he says. I would imagine he will be quite emotional. I imagine he is now with how they are doing.
Carl the Llama Posted 21 March 2016 Posted 21 March 2016 Thought it was just Stringer they had a problem with? Pearson did not like the players being interviewed because of awkward questions. Stringer made the neck gesture to Nugent after one of our defeats as if to say Pearson was getting the chop and the players took issue with it and boycotted Stringer as a group, because we have most of those same players still the boycott's stuck even now that Pearson's gone. Good on them, it's always nice to see a bit of genuine integrity in the game. Pearson had nowt to do with the decision.
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 21 March 2016 Posted 21 March 2016 Pearson did not like the players being interviewed because of awkward questions. Not true at all. Pearson never put a block on players doing interviews, he left any interview decision up to them with regard to any media outlet. Correct. The players themselves took a collective decision after the Liverpool home game last season. It's a shame it's not been sorted and, sadly, I don't see anything changing until next season at least.
z-layrex Posted 21 March 2016 Posted 21 March 2016 radio Leicester and that cu** Stringer are so championship.
teblin Posted 21 March 2016 Posted 21 March 2016 I like Elliot quite objective in his summaries. Both Ian and Jason are massive fans, I used to sit near Jason in the Kop when the ground first opened. They do a decent job I think even if I don't always agree with opinions, but thats what football is all about.
suffolk fox Posted 21 March 2016 Posted 21 March 2016 Really cant understand the hate for radio Leicester our local radio station. They support Leicester after all. Some on here really do need to get out a bit. If you don't like it turn it off.
