People have obviously said what a great goal it was but thinking about it today I'd put it in the top 10 England goals Of all time.

Can anyone name any better?

Barnes v Brazil

Shearer v Holland

Gazza v Scotland

Owen v Argentina

Beckham v Greece

Joe Cole v Sweden

Platt v Belgium

Gerrard v Germany

Charlton v Mexico

Vardy v Germany

I scored one like that once, however I had to jump to perform the flick. My mates were all impressed but I was pretty cool about it thinking it was easy. I never did it again.

To be fair, we're getting a bit carried away. Welbeck scored a very similar goal in a more important game against Sweden at Euro 2012, if you recall, which would be more deserving of the place.

Take nothing away - it was a beauty - but lets not let our blue-tinted specs overdo it.

with regards to englands kit last night:

was anyone wearing a long sleeved version? Vardy for example seemed to have red under armour (spandex) in a similar colour to the traditional red on the england shirt which suggests they just didnt have long sleeves available.

And if they do, would the sleeves be that dark red/claret colour?

Noticed players doing this more often about 6/8 years ago. Once base layers became popular very few would wear long sleeved shirts anymore. Haven't seen any images of a long-sleeve version, maybe it doesn't exist at all?

Geoff Hurst beats all of those.

Not having that mate, Vards goal generates more power and is so much cleaner. Welbecks just looks clumsy to me.

That is a really good list. Personal favourite was this one (at 3.25 into the video if you can be bothered) - nobody paid it much attention because it was in a meaningless friendly 6 weeks after the South Africa fiasco.

I'm sure i can remember Lineker taking one on his chest and volleying from for edge of the area in a 6-0 win in the USA, cracking goal which I've only ever seen once. Can anyone else remember it?

It's in the video that Algerian Fox started a thread with a couple of days ago.

I just watched Vardy's goal from a different angle. He must have perception and reflexes like a cat. You can see a split second after the assist is released that he repositions himself for the shot. It is so quick it is unbelievable. You can't learn this. This is just nature.

i must hv seen that goal 12 times now and still can't get a good look at how he scored
