So I'm using my phone and if I try to insert url I get this and nothing happens...

As I said, most sites don’t permit hot linking anymore. 
 

Best is to save to phone album then upload here.

Maybe it's an android thing then?

Cos you guys seem to do it okay and I seem to be doing the right stuff except for saving the gifs to an album on my phone.

I cant seem to save gifs to the phone.

As you can see o can upload screenshots etc okay.

Oh well, I'll just look up at you lot with awe!!!

Downloaded a gif to my phone BUT it was over the maximum storage so failed to upload..

If you click three dots you should get a new link after that which is the gif itself, yours is the link to the giphy site still, it should look like this..
