This is the BBC News. For viewers in England here is a hour long report on disastrous results for Labour in Scotland meaning we do not have time to report on the Labour victories in England.

What Labour victory in England?

They lost seats, lost a council and Corbyn became the first Labour leader to lose ground in his first election.

You've clearly been brainwashed by the Murdoch mainstream media. Wake up man, WAKE UP!

how embarrising is it going to get for labour coming behind the tories in scotland where they(the tories) are totally despised. jeremy corbyn just isn't media friendly enough to win a general election. he may appeal to the hard core labourites, but to no one else and labour need support outside there usual power base.

The delusion of the Corbynistas becomes more hilarious by the month.

Even the old Iraqi information minister wouldn't have the balls to try and pass off losing council seats in opposition as any sort of victory. Even more so after the shameless last nine months of government.

To be honest, I've not seen the BBC news, but I imagine it's actually similar to Sky News which I've just had a little look at, where there's a constant seat/council update in the bottom corner, clearly indicating the numbers and whether they are plus/minus. Though that's all probably made up too. lol

Already seen a few conspiracy theorists on Twitter claiming it's rigged.

They can't understand how this can happen as everyone they know in the local Labour club, trade union and student group hate UKIP and the Conservatives.

An update seeing there has been none since the Scotland results.

Labour won the London Mayoral election, got a bigger percentage of the votes and won 1270 council seats to 750 tories yet it has been reported as a disaster for them. Strange how Newspeak operates.

21 year old university student challenges a 'safe' Tory seat and wins.

Ken are you seriously putting forward the opinion Labour have done well in the council elections?

Apologies! No idea why I said journos.

One thing I find interesting following the London Mayor Election - are the Conservatives trying to pin the closing style of campaign run on Zac?

There does seem to be a sudden concerted effort to distance the party from the lines they had been using prior, a sudden realisation and horror of how badly and misguided the tactic employed was. I saw the Fallon interview on BBC Breakfast this morning and thought the about face was astonishing (quite funny when the presenter quoted some of his previous lines!).

Definitely, the damage Zac and his campaign caused won't be forgotten by a lot of people in London.

Some desperate party management going on.

But was Zac the instigator in all of this?

Considering the type of guy he is, I couldn't see him going this way and don't believe he was early on in his campaign - when it seemed to be a lot closer.

This was Sir Crosby's doing was it not?

Are they Blairites by any chance?

Two of the few who nominated Corbyn to "widen the debate" but they weren't part of the New Labour prodigies like Chuka Umunna and Tristam Hunt.

Hardly been a disaster though has it? Certainly not what the media seem to be making out.

Dunno how true this picture is as I saw it on facebook but if it is correct then that's hardly a disaster for Labour.

Well Robert Peston's ITV politics show is a rousing endorsement for leaving the BBC alone (directed at you John Whittingdale).

The Beeb may get accused of bias (from both sides, suggesting it's probably pretty balanced apart from Laura K), but at least it's not a horrendously amateur production like this.
