The Doctor Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 Have you heard Stuart Pearce on the radio? Genuinely dreadful pundit. Heard him waffling on the way home Tuesday that England should have shut up shop and defended the lead vs Russia on Saturday; as if this England squad was remotely suited to grinding out disciplined 1-0s.
Guest FriendlyRam Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 Spain were good but not as good as their making out.. Turkey were dreadful and offered absolutely nothing, and no one's given them the upload on how to counter the tikitaka .. they played right into Spains hands, sat off and let them dictate.
Corky Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 Glad that other people have had the misfortune to listen to Pearce on the radio.
Fox92 Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 The Premier League is the best league in the world. Real Madrid and Barcelona are among the best clubs in the world. Genuinely astounding that people don't see the difference. I don't know the difference. Dunno what you mean by "best clubs". The biggest clubs in the World are Madrid, Barca and Munich IMO but that's not a given right... Barca and both Madrid sides have been European Cup finalists for the past four or five years, I'm not saying it makes the league better, but Spanish football is ahead of English football (as is German football).

Too many games, not enough talent nurturing - especially home grown and definitely too much money.

The top sides in those leagues are better than the top sides in our league. But on the whole i'd say that the Premier League is of a far, far higher quality.
Guest Col city fan Posted 18 June 2016 Posted 18 June 2016 The top sides in those leagues are better than the top sides in our league. But on the whole i'd say that the Premier League is of a far, far higher quality. Spot on. For me, the easy way to define this is by this: on any given day in the Premiership, any team can beat any other team. Apart from Villa last season who were dog shite. West Brom can go to Arsenal and turn em over etc..not always, but it can happen. Season in, season out say in Spain, you get the big teams absolutely walloping the likes of Betis or Granada for example. It's very rare those minnows have a chance against Barce and Real. So, the best teams are in Spain but the MOST COMPETITIVE league is the Premiership. By far.
