Matt, you are assuming correlation = causation no?  Much more likely that the same underlying factors which made these guys radicalised or whatever also cause them to be given medication or self medicate with illegal drugs.  You know what with the vast numbers of people who are on medication or do drugs who are not on your list because they didn't massacre anyone.

As a youth I once got drawn into some sort of group fight outside a club in Northampton after dancing the night away on about 4 pills.

 

I was like 'why don't we just hug this out guys, come on'. 

 

Despite my offer of hugs I took a swift punch to the face and excused myself from the melee. 

 

I think if we gave terrorists ecstasy then they would probably hug people instead of blowing themselves up. Worth a try.

Duterte's utter abandonment of due process in this situation and his apparent moral clarity with it makes for an interesting, though pretty damn horrifying, ethical discussion.
