Thracian Posted 25 September 2005 Posted 25 September 2005 someone in the kop Was it racist - or just something aimed at a guy who happened to be black (perhaps the one who threw the punch). People are so willing to put labels on things, add two and two up to make five and make something out of nothing. You heard it so only you know.
samlcfc1 Posted 25 September 2005 Posted 25 September 2005 i went 2 the game with my uncle whos a qpr fan , and he said if the qpr fans werent kept behind they would have been alot of trouble
Leicester_Mad Posted 25 September 2005 Posted 25 September 2005 i think what the hull fans were chanting is slightly diferent, i don't agree with what was chanted but don't think it was as bad as hull slightly different doesnt make a difference its still the same context and is **** disgraceful
Sparky Posted 25 September 2005 Posted 25 September 2005 are we expecting city to release a statement tomorrow vowing to ban the wan.ke.rs , because it needs to be done . scum

Durnerz Posted 25 September 2005 Posted 25 September 2005 cant say i heard any of these chants as i sit in the KOP but i could see alot of trouble up at the top of L1 in the last 10 mins. if it was our fans they need banning, if it was QPR charging us then they too need banning from all football stadia across the country. i am ashamed this happened here. are we going to sing this to every londoner club that comes? "just a small place in london" is a good chant, but things about terrorism and racism are just sickening. well done on the KOP trying to get a good atmosphere going throughout the game. You having a Steffi Graff mate? Kop were shite, just like the rest of the ground.
Blue Arrow Posted 25 September 2005 Posted 25 September 2005 Just been reading about it on the OS there's some little prat that thought it was cool. what's the matter with these people, it makes me feel SICKand just more than a little DISGUSTED to be associated with the City of LEICESTER Where you reading that from? can i have alink becuase i cant gind it.
john_lcfc Posted 25 September 2005 Posted 25 September 2005 right for the second time this season thankfully i wasnt in L1. i am all for L1 and i love the banter nad songs suck as " small town in London "etc but singing that just puts people off coming to L1 and makes people like teeno and me think about permenantly sitting in the kop. why why why.. just gives L1 a bad name if it hasnt got a bad enough one already
Scow Posted 25 September 2005 Posted 25 September 2005 I'm glad I moved my Season Ticket away from there. Although it's only a minority who are a bunch of chavvy wankers intent of behaving like wannabe hooligans, it's still enough to make L1 a shite place to sit.

Quite right Mark, I felt ashamed to sit in there sometimes last season and will not be sitting in there again particularly as I was the innocent victim of Leeds weaponry last season. Mindless knobends who havent got the social skills to work out that chanting things like is humanly wrong (that goes for L1 and some Leeds 'supporters')
Guest Posted 26 September 2005 Posted 26 September 2005 i think what the hull fans were chanting is slightly diferent, i don't agree with what was chanted but don't think it was as bad as hull From what I've been told, and from what I've read about the hull v QPR game, it was the same chants. I hope that the club identify these idiots, and ban them. Whilst clubs have morons like this following them, all football fans will be tarnished with the same brush by those who do not understand or follow the game, and it sickens me to be associated with these twats.
Ric Flair Posted 26 September 2005 Posted 26 September 2005 I didn't hear anything but saw all the police and stewards charge up to L1 in the second half. I'm glad i've never had the priveledge to sit in L1 and will steer clear in the future aswell, don't get me wrong i'm sure there are some sound people in L1 but there is also a bunch of cooonts in there that would do my head in and i'd quite happily fight some of them. Piss poor chant aswell atleast make up something funny, typical chavs.
Frenzied Posted 26 September 2005 Posted 26 September 2005 Hearing what was sung has made utterly ashamed to be from Leicester and a Leicester fan. Leicester's already got a reputation for being a shithole - these people just confirm there's a lot of truth in that.
Louise Posted 26 September 2005 Posted 26 September 2005 LCFC Statement Leicester City is very proud of its fans and high standards on all aspects of crowd behaviour and control. The Walkers Stadium continues to be one of the safest and family-orientated Football Stadia in the country - a reputation which we are proud of. However, the club are currently investigating alleged highly irresponsible and offensive chants from a small section of the home crowd during Saturday's Championship match with QPR. The club will not tolerate this behaviour and appropriate actions will be taken in due course if the allegations are viewed to be accurate. Meanwhile, Leicestershire Constabulary has endorsed the statements made by Leicester City with regards to the match on Saturday. Superintendent Chris Rollings, the match commander, said: "We will not tolerate any form of offensive chanting. "The force is committed to working with Leicester City Football Club to eradicate any form of this type of behaviour at the Walkers Stadium." As a result of the game at the weekend, six persons were arrested for a variety of Public Order offences. A post-match investigation has commenced which will thoroughly examine evidence obtained during the game. It is anticipated that further prosecutions will follow. Supt Rollings added: "If you come to the stadium and commit criminal offences which includes provoking the opposition fans you can expect to be prosecuted." If fans are in any way concerned please contact Supporter Relations Manager Peter Jones via the hotline on 0116 229 4555 or email: [email protected] http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/...~718684,00.html
Hullfox Posted 26 September 2005 Author Posted 26 September 2005 The use of the word "provoke" could be a bit of a worry. That could encapsulate so many things which are not even remotely inappropriate.
Katy Posted 26 September 2005 Posted 26 September 2005 Bet the little chavs are bricking it now. So they should be, some people need to realise and be made accountable for the implications of their badly chosen words!
Leicester_Mad Posted 26 September 2005 Posted 26 September 2005 Saturday was a day that made me and my dad think again about going down the football over doing other more important things. Firstly a lady that i have sat next two in the Walkers Stadium died, leaving her husband behind who was obviously devastated. The football is nothing sort of diabolical. Hoof ball, and a team that kicked the shit out of a team for 90minutes won.... Then the chantings in L1 sum up a lot of football fans - not the majority but it certainly isnt just a select few. Football is turning into a disagrace

Football is turning into a disagrace Turning in to a disgrace? Cast back to the 80's and all the violence, a few chants is small time compared to that. You are always going to get a few wankers at football it's the nature of the beast, but if the bad times outweigh the good times then you know the game is over.

Ric Flair Posted 26 September 2005 Posted 26 September 2005 yes ill cast back to before i was born You might not have been around back then, but it was a hell of alot worse than what it is at football nowadays. Infact football is alot alot safer place to go to now and although those chants were awful, it doesn't compare to the wankers that used to give football a bad name in the 80's and early 90's. The actual football's gone downhill though, I agree with you there.

The state of football now is the worst i have seen it since i have been watching (12years or so) and over the past year or two i have heard chants from the Leicester fans that i wouldnt have expected to hear. But you are right - the football is the worst its been for ages and there is only one reason for that - money

Can someone explain how chants about the London bombings were Racist? Did they also chant something else other then "your just a town full of bombers"? If anything they were in bad taste and showed no respect for the 7/7 victims,i can't see how they were racist!
