Not really when Murray played him he was guaranteed to be 10th whether he won or lost. And he is ranked 10th now, don't remember you specifying whether you meant current top 10 or top 10 at the time (even though he was for all intent and purposes top 10)

At the time he played him he was not top 10. I didn't need to specify anything else. Your cheap shot backfired for you unfortunately!

Berdych doesn't matter...

Murray had to get past Raonic in Paris and he was top 10!

Well yeah, if you want to use loop holes, he did beat Raonic withdrawal or not.

Ok if it makes you feel better, he did indeed beat a top 10 player by having a rest in his hotel room. Well done.

I am sorry I don't find it anymore silly than you basing your argument around a well out of date computer system.

Tbh this whole thing is ridiculous and the comparison is irrelevant, we shouldn't be tired at this stage of the season.

Nah I've finished burying you now, time to go.

You did a great job of that with your amazing tennis knowledge. I don't know much about tennis, but still had you all over the place!

Good stuff.

Maybe "tired" is not the right word, but we are certainly comparatively less fresh after a CL game than a team that's had a week off. It isn't just about playing 90 mins on a Wednesday and then a Saturday - players have a recovery programme that has to be condensed after midweek games. I'd say there is also a lot more mental energy expended in the CL than I'd appreciated. Every game counts, every other team has something about them to have won a European league the season before (or top 2/3/4), irrespective of whether that is a "lesser league". They are the best of each country and maybe lesser teams are extra motivated by the prize money. That means the CL games are not just knockabouts, plus you've got extra travel (potentially a couple of flights) and going to a new city - it all disrupts the normal flow of the week.

I do think our pre-season was not ideal for our PL campaign, but I am convinced we agreed to it as preparation for the CL - and it has probably worked in that sense. However, with that messed up summer and new CL experiences, we just don't seem to have quite caught up on the fitness/energy side. We are comparatively tired against other PL teams who are either (a) more used to European competition or (b) don't have to worry about it.

Well being factually correct, kind of makes me right funnily enough!

You ridiculing my correct fact, kind of makes you look a bit silly like I said.

Enjoy your day too. Maybe just check up on your facts before making snide comments next time. Cheers

Your not factually correct Live ATP Tennis Rankings had Tomas Berdych ranked at 10th in the world when they started the match!  FFS man.

The Official Rankings are released intermittently, the ATP do a live ranking board, he was 10th at the start of play.

I literally don't give a f*** about tennis. The rankings were officially updated today though, but to be honest as I said, I don't really care!

Whether you would like to call him 10 or 11, does not get away from the fact that your opening statement made you look like a knowitall, that actually is not always right.

The chap that wrote the below article obviously disagrees with you too.

If that is an article on how Murray is lucky to be world no.1 and you agree with it then I'm glad the work computer is flitering it, to be quite honest.

He's 1 in the race this season, that's been earned over 12 months not 4 weeks.
