travellingman Posted 19 December 2016 Posted 19 December 2016 Well done for your awards at BBC SP Awards, including Best Team. Also for reaching the knockout stages of Champions League. Gives hope to fans of teams just bubbling below the surface that the top can be achieved. A new website has recently been launched called Football Cities and of course Leicester and your club are included. Could you just check the facts and figures on the page and advise if any amendments are required. There is also an associated facebook page called Football Cities, which has Leicester as city of the week. Both the site and facebook can be accessed via www.footballcities.co.uk Thanks.

Quote Leicester is the county town of Leicestershire Not a good start..... Edit: 1929 the highest ever League position was achieved when the Foxes were runners up to Sheffield Wednesday in Division One.
ealingfox Posted 19 December 2016 Posted 19 December 2016 There's also a mistake where it says the rugby union club are major.

MPH Posted 19 December 2016 Posted 19 December 2016 Yes had a 'mare with the term county town I'll not edit it out as i deserve the same i get! But i stand by the top league position comment! i will never now acknowledge how highest league position was 2nd although there's a possibility he'll claim he was referring to the old league system and not the prem,
travellingman Posted 20 December 2016 Author Posted 20 December 2016 Thanks gents. Will accept your comments if that is all you could find. Yes, I agree with the posts about County Town. Strangely, whether a city or not it appears that where the county HQ is located is known as the County Town. With regard to best ever position in League. Well done you caught me out, sort of. The piece on Leicester was mainly written before the end of last season so what was written then was correct. Have amended to Football League. However, your achievement last season had already been added in May. Are there any major changes to night life etc. in your city? Any venue you feel could be added.
St. Louis Fox Posted 20 December 2016 Posted 20 December 2016 Two small (historical) points: in the paragraph headed "Leicester Cathedral:" The Battle of Bosworth Field is customarily dated to 1485 (not 1845). The bones of Richard III are "interred" (not "interned") in the cathedral.

Take the first 'a' out of medieval as you have it spelt currently as medi'a'eval. Hope this helps - be good to build up pubs and clubs links too, for real ale and stuff and away fan friendly pubs without colours etc....
Vince Vega Posted 21 December 2016 Posted 21 December 2016 Just a small point. The theatre is just called Curve - not The Curve.

Thanks for correcting the spelling, you are right.
