Fox 4 Life Posted 24 January 2017 Posted 24 January 2017 Just read this alarming stat; Leicester City have conceded more goals (37) to date than they did in the whole of their title winning season (36). I know we have been bad but that is quite shocking, in less than a year those 4 have gone from the best to worst in the league. How is that even possible?! There is the age factor, the kante factor but the turn around is unreal. That stat alone surely has to kick the club in to action, we have a week to sort this out and bring in at least 2 new defenders. Will it happen or have we once again dropped the ball on the transfer front. Last year was the most amazing, surreal and stunning year in footballing history but unless we turn it around we will only be remembered as the team that won the league and got relegated the year after.

Zola Posted 24 January 2017 Posted 24 January 2017 FA notified all clubs before season started, that they will not tolerate holding of the players which was only game play for Huth and Wes last year. Also they are more slower this year and made many mistakes. Simpson offers nothing when we play forward and also made many mistakes defensivly. Only Fuchs have my pass.

Your first point is key..and has been referred to previously. Without being able to muscle or bully opponents into submission, life's become a whole lot harder for our defenders and the status quo pleads for a change of emphasis from brute strength to speed. It's my preferred approach anyway, for all that we've worked a sporting miracle with Morgan/Huth and co. But in the end it's pace, passing and relentlessness that'll make us consistently competitive at the top level.

yorkie1999 Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 Thing is we don'y play with a back 4, we play with a back 8 half the time, keep saying it, we are far too defensive. You don't win games by putting the emphasis on defending.
STUHILL Posted 25 January 2017 Posted 25 January 2017 Is strange to see us concede so many. We made it seem so simple last year. Keep the defence narrow and deep, push attackers wide and simply deal with anything coming into the box in a no nonsense fashion. I think Wes is very much a confidence player and his is completely shot. Huth looks like age has drastically caught up with him and I have no explanation for Fuchs. Simpson's limitations are also there for everyone to see, and especially when he isn't even doing the basics right. We desperately need a CB to replace Wes and a RB who can at least push Simpson if not start ahead of him. Chilwell should come in for Fuchs too. Perhaps being dropped will be the best thing for Wes. Claudio defintely needs to do something and I hope he doesn't think Amartey and N'didi are the answer. Maybe we will see the resurrection of Benny! Could be our saviour..

What really worries me is there is really minimal noise that we are actively looking at sorting the defence out. A few links here and there but it all seems to be wingers/strikers.
