A view from a non-supporter

It's easy to be idealistic and sentimental when it isn't your club, and I am sure all of us would be the same if this hadn't all happened to our Leicester but it did. We will all love Claudio forever for but our love for our club is far greater than that. When we dropped out of the top division in 2002 we very nearly lost our club entirely, followed by years of truly awful football, no one can expect us just to accept that again.

I understand why the rest of the world has reacted like it has but please understand the Leicester perspective. There was no sign of hope and a turnaround, each week was worse than the last. Whether we would have stayed up we will never know and whether we will now only time will tell but at least we have given ourselves a fighting chance.

It's a reasonable post from someone looking at the situation from the outside. However you said that you don't know what went wrong, well we do. yes he led us to our greatest ever success.

But he's also been responsible for our demise.  We managed to win the league despite our well know deficiencies. his job was to address those  shortcomings and improve the squad. All he had to do was add a little quality to midfield and defence.  and yet he never addressed either of them . Instead spending 80 millions of the clubs money on over valued players and potential, when what we needed was quality. That's all he had to do was add a little quality to midfield and defence.  We would have finished mid table and everyone happy believing were going in the right direction.

Instead what we got was poor performances and poor selections and the same old rhetoric after every game while confusing and alienating the players in the process.

Don't lose sight of the fact that he also had two Transfer windows and 2/3s of the season to bring about some improvement and he failed miserably. He was never going to turn hings around.

At least we now have a chance to do so.

Yes the club may be sullied by the way they handled things but Ranieri cant claim he done nothing wrong and  was an innocent party in this. He's actually getting out of it lightly.

Many of your own fans feel you shouldn't have sacked the greatest manager you've ever had, that you were all calling a genius just nine months ago. I suppose their views are all pathetic too?

Please don't use this as an argument to validate your own opinion. The fact is you don't watch lcfc and we do whether we agree with the decision or not. I know plenty of fans who think it's a mistake to sack Ranieri, and I can listen to their point of view because they actually watch the games. Along with most of the media and fans of other clubs and romantics all over the world, your view is irrelevant.

A decent, talented chap, with a longstanding gripe against someone in the club (I won't say who!). I worked in the same organisation as him for a while and his dedication to the sport is second to none.

You mean his dedication to flattening as many Leicester goalies in one match as possible.

I think it's clear that the manager had lost the support of the players and the coaching staff, and they'd all but downed tools. Ranieri wasn't going to turn it around, anyone who has watched us play regularly this season could have told you that. The problem is, most outsiders only care about the "Leicester Story" - it's not their club, and they don't really care what actually happens to us, only that it has a "nice ending".That's different to the feelings of the fans, who've had to watch this horror show, as our club falls to pieces, week in and week out.

You're right in that we can always reminisce about the "glory days" of 2015/2016. I'd much rather do that from the comfort of the Premier League, than in League One though. We may still get relegated, but this might at least give the players a kick up the backside and give us a fighting chance. Otherwise we'd be down without a whimper, and the financial implications of that would be horrific. Last time we got relegated, it took 10 years to get back the premier league, and the championship is only getting more competitive.

Whilst I do as a season ticket holder understand your point of view, whether the players don't agree with or dislike Ranieri not is not an excuse to perform the way some of them have. It wouldn't matter what team selection or formation Ranieri employed if players don't put the effort in and try. If they have such a problem with him such issues should be aired at the end of the season and not put the club in jeopardy. They also may have the option to put in a transfer request.

There is no excuse for some of them like lazy Marhez to shuffle round and not bust a gut, he and the others are highly paid employees and like the rest of us, expected therefore to get on with their job whether they like it or not because they quite happily draw and spend their wages. Let alone show any responsibility and loyalty to the thousands of people that pay their hard earned money to go and watch them, they are a complete disgrace some of them just because things can't be done the way they want them to be done because they of course are so good and clever and know best. That is precisely how and why teams get relegated. If you don't believe this, try looking at a club called QPR, not all of their managers can have been crap!

As for Monday the players are in a no win situation unfortunately. If they don't bust a gut they should be booed off heavily and under no illusion that they are not fit to wear the shirt of Leicester City. If they do bust a gut and win then the question is where have the selfish bastards been hiding all season!

For me there is a lot of truth in what the original poster has stated, whilst the achievements can never be taken away, at the very least they have been badly tainted. I hope that our players get a real nasty bastard of a manager next and that he burns the trouble makers.

As professionals in the EPL the players should be able to adapt to any system that the coaching staff requests of them. If they cannot then they can bugger off to lower league football without the high salary. They are just employees of the club.

Seriously as a Arsenal fan I don't think this is anyone's business to criticize or to have a dig at Leicester or its owner's over.

We don't know like true Leicester fans, fans who attend week in week out have to put up with and I think rival fans should keep noses firmly out what is Leicester's buisness.

Good luck for the rest of the season, I truly hope you stay up

Do you really think he's innocent in our demise. If he had done what was  expected we wouldn't be where we are now..

We'll get over the demise of Ranieri

We might not get over being relegated.

Ask Leeds, Blackburn, Forest, Derby, Oldham, Swindon, Chalton, Portsmouth, Villa, Newcastle Fans etc

10 years of crap, yep this years been crap. But I live in hope we can get out of this mess.

By the way, I was still gutted we sacked Claudio .............. But no one person is bigger than our club.

Perhaps the current Champions of the League players will be reminded of this following the action taken in the last couple of days
