Anish Posted 6 October 2005 Posted 6 October 2005 Wow that's an incredible offer. I'm in two minds what to do...buy PES5 for my PS2 or 'obtain' PES5 for PC for free?? Decisions decisions....

Jay Posted 8 October 2005 Posted 8 October 2005 Dear HMV CustomerI am writing to you with regards to your order placed via www.hmv.co.uk for the following item: Cat.No: 4012927027929 Artist: PLAYSTATION 2 GAME Title : PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER 5 As I am sure you are aware, this item was mispriced on the HMV web site at £14.99 for a short period of time. Under the notified terms and conditions on the web site, HMV are entitled to withdraw from any contract in the case of obvious errors or inaccuracies regarding the goods appearing on our web site. However, as a gesture of goodwill, on this occasion only, we are going to honour order placed for the item, but will be restricting this offer to one per customer. Therefore, please note the following: o If you have placed an order for more than one unit, your order will now be reduced to one unit o If you have placed more than one order under the same email address, then only one order will stay active, and all subsequent orders will be cancelled.
Anish Posted 8 October 2005 Posted 8 October 2005 From a legal point of view, I doubt they could have withdrawn that offer anyway (to those that bought it). I remember a while back that Argos (or some other big retailer) was selling a TV or something else online for a ridiculous price, £2 of something like that. In that case Argos were entitled to cancel all orders because the price was so clearly a mistake and any reasonable person would know that the price was wrong. In this instance, it would be difficult for HMV to justify that the price was ridiculous to the 'reasonable person', because although it was cheap, it wasn't exactly a steal. There are games out there that cost £14.99 so HMV wouldn't stand much ground legally.
Wellman Posted 8 October 2005 Posted 8 October 2005 I played the new fifa last night and it's rubbish! It's soooooooooooo slow!
City Fan Posted 8 October 2005 Posted 8 October 2005 From a legal point of view, I doubt they could have withdrawn that offer anyway (to those that bought it). Yep you're right. My dad saw a top of the range digital camera on a website (might have been PC World), and were selling it for £99, missing the first digit off. They had to sell it at that price.
