England V Austria

Recommended Posts

If we qualify, I do not fancy our chances in Germany. We would struggle to get out of the group. :(:unsure: <_<

That'll be an improvement because at the moment we are struggling to get out of the changing room

The FA should make an announcement under the Trades Descriptions Act along the following lines:

To whom it concerns,

"Fans considering buying tickets to watch England play football should be warned that, under the present regime, apart from the odd friendly, the singular ambition of the England team will be to win 1-0 and, failing that to draw 0-0.

"Only if forced by some catastrophe like the opposition scoring might we be unavoidably forced to seek to score twice and we will categorically ONLY take that risk IF the draw would be terminal to our chances of qualifying for whatever competition we are playing in.

"The FA refutes any suggestion that we have a responsibility to the fans with respect to playing 90 minutes of our best possible football or of somehow having a duty to entertain. This is NO LONGER why you pay for your tickets.

"By definition therefore, you are hereby advised that much of our play will be dour and functional and, if we do take a lead, we will concentrate on defending that lead with all resources.

"Our best advice in the circumstances is that you should really stay at home and watch what happens on television - keeping your remote control device with its off switch handy at all times."
