I'll le you decide which one. 3:20. Although it's probably multiple choice

I can actually see the logic of giving Ulloa a new contract. Remember it was only in January this year that we turned down £8m for him or whatever it was from Sunderland. I think we would have sold Slimani in the summer if we had a decent offer for him and Ulloa would have replaced him as the cut price option for that reserve striker who offers us something in the air. Also by giving him a new contract it meant we could have alternatively sold Ulloa in the summer or this January and still receive a reasonable fee rather than letting him go OOC. By giving Ulloa a new contract it protected both Ulloa's future income and our ability to get a fee for him if we decide to sell.

"The club needs always come first" and "...protecting Ulloa's future income" seem slightly contrary statements from you as im not convinced that the future income streams of a multi-millionaire footballer should be one of the clubs primary concerns If we turned down £8m last Jan, are we likley to receive a higher offer in jan'18 or next summer for a player who will be 12-18 months older? We will also have paid him £2-3m in wages to him during that period for a player who has not featured at all other than in the U23s where he deprives younger players an opportunity to develope. I am really not convinced that giving Ulloa a new contract at £40k/week in view of his age, ability, limited contribution and his previous statement about "never playing for the club again" was the right thing to do... but clearly we have differing views on this subject.

I'm suggesting that Ulloa signing a new contract was mutually beneficial to both him and the club protecting both parties financial interests. Personally I would have took my chances and sold him to Sunderland for £8m in January. We should have been confident that with so many games left that selling them Ulloa who was well down the pecking order here that they wouldn't finish above us selling them players who weren't good enough to get a regular spot. Giving Ulloa a new contract was insurance for selling Slimani in the summer and I'd bet we are very actively trying to sell Ulloa this January so we can still cover his wages and a bit of profit in that time.
