Is the squad good enough for L1?
Foxy-Lady replied to Narborough Road Fox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Which championship..?? I hear the Championship in Djibouti is not particulary strong so maybe the Mercury has a point. -
I cant disagree with your first statement as i had given up watching by that stage and your comment does echo much of what my mates have said about performances but from the outside looking in, Coppers team were ahead of expectations in terms of points gathered at the time he was sacked so the question is....What exactly is it you want to see as a supporter? Personally, in a league where we were tipped for relegation, id rather have seen us gain points with late flourishes than dominate games and lost.....but then again, ive been following city for over 40 years so i remember what it was like to be the underdogs back in the old days before some of our "newer" fans became so entitled......do you remember what happened to Alan Curbishley at Charlton??? As for Rudkin, i dont see what point your trying to make here either? I didnt suggest he should have been sacked just because of Cooper. By that time, we had already been relegated from the PL with one of the most expensive playing squads/wage bills ever to be relegated, we were hemorrhaging money as a business, player recruitment and contract negotations had been dreadful for a long period and we had rapidly become a sinking ship/business even at that point. Post Cooper, he has appointed Van Nistleroy, Cifuentes (Andy King as interim) Rowett and now Martin in just a 2 year period.....all of who failed spectacularly (jury still out on Martin!) Do you really think my anger at Rudkin is based purely on his appointment and the playing style of Steve Cooper?
-
Alright....calm down big man behind your keyboard...! My statement was inferring that there are those who are always screaming for the managers to be sacked before they ever scream so loudly for Rudkin to be fired.....and i stand by that! Thats not quite the same as saying they are supportive of Rudkin, its just suggesting that they continuously campaign for our succession of failed managers to be fired without ever stopping to ask WHO is responsible for this continual merry-go-round of s**t appointments. . And your latest statement that not having a manager would be an upgrade on Martin indicates yet another new manager on the horizon in the near future, no doubt to be appointed by the same person who appointed all the other failures. Frankly, im tired of people on here complaining about how s**t our managers are....i thought the penny might have dropped by now, but obviously not! definition of insanity....."doing the same thing over and over again and expecting to get a different result"
-
which ones? The ones in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026...?!?
-
We needed rid of one more than the other....and we got that the wrong way round. Who knows what might have happened with Cooper....but would it have been any worse that what the other one has done to our club?
-
I thought it was the DoF who was in charge of transfers and player recuritment?
-
Yes i absolutely do.....all the indoctrinated happy-clappers for a start.
-
Weirdly.....ive Never met anyone to this day who has owned up to being part of the "MON out brigade...!" Im wondering what all those who thought Steve Cooper was the problem and wanted him and not Rudkin fired are thinking now...?!?
-
WOW.....You actually believe what comes out of Rudkins mouth...?!?!?
-
Did it count as a shot on target...?
-
You're maybe giving him too much credit also. Youre assuming that he is accurately passing up the right information and handing down tasks correctly...? Some decisions in life are made for the right reasons.....but with the wrong understanding/information
-
He is a master-manipulator with an autocratic/dictatorial leadership style (insecurity?)............that's all you need to know really. What follows is all about others either failing to see the reality, or being too afraid to challenge it for fear of being alienated/losing their jobs. Lehman Bros is a great business case study of what happens when intelligent/experienced people fail to challenge bad decisions for fear of losing their jobs The rest is history im afraid...
-
I was genuinely struggling for a moment to figure out exactly which of the 3 Horsemen of the Apocalypse you were referring to in your post...? The description could so easily have fitted any one of Odd-Job, Rudder-less or Martin had it not been for the reference to "Chairmans suite" and "HIS unrealistic asking price for the club"...!
-
Interesting that you credit the club for getting rid of the s**t manager that they themselves appointed.....on the back of their several other recent failures. personally, im more concerned about the idiot(s) in charge of managerial appointments in view of our recent history...! no point continually blaming s**t managers for doing a s**t job....what else would you expect from s**t managers??
-
he went over to ask if anyone could give him a lift home...
-
To be fair, i imagine Agent Rudkin is treated like an absolute God in Cov areas.....never has to pay for a drink or a meal anywhere he goes in Cov.
-
If he had said 100 million, Rudkin would have negotiated him down to 110 million...!

Administration Prediction Date
Foxy-Lady replied to The Year Of The Fox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Not sure if anyone has picked up or commented on this yet but.......the Last set of financial accounts we posted for the period ending June25 showed a £60m (100%) increase in PL Broadcasting revenues Vs prev year when we were in the Championship.....and yet we still somehow managed to post a Loss of -£70m Bearing in mind the next set of account we publish for the current season will once again be based on Broadcasting rights revenue for the Championship (ie similar to 2024!) , its quite likely we will see a reduction of -£50m in revenues which will make it highly likely we will be posting ANOTHER significant loss for the current season....regardless of how much they have managed to reduce our overhead/wages costs by. Add in the nightmare possibility of relegation to Div1 where the revenues will decrease even further, it becomes very difficult to see HOW we will manage to financially turn round this club without either significant external investment OR sales of assets.....which potentially leaves us with even less than we currently have....ie LESS than f**k all...! -

Yep, Town Called Malice probably my all time fave too. Also had a brilliant B side track on that single (precious) ironically, there are some pretty appropriate lyrics for this thread in TCM..... " Cause those rosey days are few" "Its enough to make you stop believing When tears come fast and furious..." -

Outstanding re-work of a classic track.....literally singing those lyrics in my head! And top marks for squeezing in "western Boulevard".....IYKYK! -
Absolutely 100% correct with this response....especially the key points highlighted. "...the tumble down to a second tier relegation dogfight is a hell of a lot worse than the collapse under Mandaric..." "...it's quite possible that - one year from now - the club's position will be terminal, or worse" "...give the restructuring a year to see whether it works or not. Had it been done two-and-a-half years ago, when it was clear that it was necessary, you might have a point. But, thanks to Top, it wasn't" ..."owing to the incompetence of people who remain in the key roles at the club, there is a real prospect of our overheads outweighing the club's value within the time frame..." Totally beyond me that the KPFC fans cannot (will not?) understand the potential long-term financial consequences of some of these disastrous decisions.....and that those responsible are still with us in key positions (CEO, SD, Chairman). If anyone thinks that Rudkin will give the new DoF freedom to operate, they are deluded....one of the men who got us into this mess will still be calling the shots.

They're thinking of extending it to the Top 22.......there's still a chance...!
