Custom league.

I voted for premier league but knowing me I'd probably end up with West Brom

An International tournament but you can only pick players that are aged 23 and under, I'll play then

I've seen a similar thing to your leagues before on another forum but on this one everybody took it in turns to make a blind pick for players but if you chose the same player as somebody else then nobody can use that player.

 

I wasn't involved but it got people racking their brains to pick decent but not outstanding players, only for about 4 people to pick Angel Correa thinking they're being clever anyway

The best draft league I've seen had everyone with a budget of 250m to buy 11 players. A list of 30 players was released every day and people blind bid on the players they wanted from the list. Highest bidder then won that player for their team and had the price they bid deducted from their budget. If they ran out of money but hadn't completed their team they would have to bid £0 and hope no one else bid on them. It's a nice mix of people spunking their budget early on average players and trying to fill their squads on a shoestring and a huge scramble for the top tier players.

 

You'd need to up the values to fill out an 18 or 20 man squad of course but the bidding process would be quality. It would also give you a chance to get involved as well @Des. as you could then make up a squad for yourself with the players not bid on once everyone's filled their squads.
