Anish Posted 17 October 2005 Posted 17 October 2005 Nowt to do with being a student I'm afraid. It's probably cos you're under 22 and therefore qualify for 'young adult discount'. Don't get me started on being 22...

moseeds Posted 17 October 2005 Posted 17 October 2005 Everytime I ask for young adult they just give it. Never been asked for identity. I look about 25 in most people's opinion (not a good sign for the future really) so I was quite surprised. I am 22 by the way! I would have thought the club would scrap the young adult idea and just issue NUS as concessions?
Thracian Posted 17 October 2005 Posted 17 October 2005 You should be so bloody lucky Yeah! What have they got for blokes of 56. Fading eyesight and all that. Much harder to see the players clearly. That ought to be worth something off. Plus more years of suffering as a City fan. Plus wear on the joints from 40 years of walking down from the Fosse and climbing those steps. Surely there's a compensation claim there of some sort.

I would have thought the club would scrap the young adult idea and just issue NUS as concessions? Unfortunately the people at the ticket office ask for my membership card, and when I give it to them they bring my details up on the computer which tells them that I'm 22...so I can't get away with it The club should scrap young adult tickets in favour of student tickets, but I've already ranted about that before...
Sir JJ Wilcox Posted 17 October 2005 Posted 17 October 2005 I would have thought the club would scrap the young adult idea and just issue NUS as concessions Bullshit i'm only 19 and because i'm not a bleeding student means i'm not a young adult i don't think so
Anish Posted 17 October 2005 Posted 17 October 2005 Bullshit i'm only 19 and because i'm not a bleeding student means i'm not a young adult i don't think so Yes but if you're not a student it means you can work full time and therefore earn enough money to pay adult prices. Students can only work part time at most, and they have their studies to fund, along with living expenses. Age shouldn't come into it at all, it should be based on your means. (Full time) students won't have much income regardless of age, so if they are 22 or above they have to pay adult prices even if they earn less than a 19 year old.
Sir JJ Wilcox Posted 17 October 2005 Posted 17 October 2005 My younger brother is doing an apprentership and attends college for a 2 week block in january he earns around the same money as me but has an NUS card and is classed as a student.

Well the majority of us are a few grand in debt, so I'll take Student Prices over young adult any day.
cisono Posted 17 October 2005 Posted 17 October 2005 I would have thought the club would scrap the young adult idea and just issue NUS as concessions? Or they could mix the two so that you get the cheaper price if you are - either under 22 - or a student (or both of course)
Guest Posted 17 October 2005 Posted 17 October 2005 DMSU has posters all over it advertising cheap student tickets on production of a valid NUS card. The ad says something like "Calling all DMU students...", but it doesn't say "DMU Student union cards only". Or at least I don't think it did. Not quite as easy as 'Carlill v Carbolic Smokeball Company' Anish!
Matt Posted 17 October 2005 Posted 17 October 2005 I'm not classed as a student because I am on an apprenticeship for 1 day (Which is not enough hours a week to be classed as a student) but I am earning less than minimum wage so why should I pay full price? Fair enough I probably end up with more than students do because I do much more hours than most students do, but students could and would get paid more than I do as an apprentice!

In the packs they were giving out to new students at DMU was a flyer saying something along the lines of 'get tickets for any LCFC home game for £10'. Not sure if the club have done a similar deal with Leicester Uni students too? Sounds like a good deal for them although how many of them would want to watch City is another matter.

Did the packs specify you had to be a DMU student or just a student? I would love to get my hands on one of them...
Jonbluefox9 Posted 17 October 2005 Posted 17 October 2005 Did the packs specify you had to be a DMU student or just a student? I would love to get my hands on one of them... From what I remember it said something like "Calling all DMU students..." like Lisa said. My brother works at DMU and he gets given all these flyers and stuff because they think he's one of the students. There was a programme from last season's match against Burnley at Filbert Way too which was generous of the club.

Thracian Posted 18 October 2005 Posted 18 October 2005 I've lost my City membership card. Will they issue a new one?
Ric Flair Posted 18 October 2005 Posted 18 October 2005 I've lost my City membership card. Will they issue a new one? I'm sure they will do for another £15
