Does anyone live in the LE2 3 area of the city and have virgin media? Thinking of changing both my sky tv and bt broadband but want to check to see what the service is like in my area

It’s good but nothing special it depends what you do as if your a gamer it works out good

I'm not in LE2 but have had Virgin, BT and Sky fibre packages over the last 4 years. Virgin was actually the slowest as they throttle it ar peak times and it was the slowest at uploading.

BT and Sky were both better for me.

If it's just for random internet usage and tv etc virgin media wins hands down. If you're a serious gamer where every edge matters then bt is superior. Virgin has pants latency and they don't really care about it.

So Virgin and UKTV have had a disagreement and Virgin have removed their channels from their platform. Virgin want to pay 25% of the fee.

Meaning we lose key channels such as; Gold, Dave, Alibi, W, and getting replaced with Paramount, and some equestrian channel as well as others.

I've called Virgin and spoke to rententions who said I can leave without being held to my contract.

Are reccomendations away from Virgin? I did like them, but if they do retain UKTV services, they will only pump their prices up!

Freeview, it’s a bit cheaper too.

I only noticed this morning, when I stuck Gold on. Comes up with a notice saying it's being replaced at midnight.

Twitter is an amazing read between Virgin and UKTV blaming eachother.

From what I understand, the companies can't agree a deal to use UKTV channels on demand, or don't want to pay the fee. (They are willing to pay 25%)

Then they want to air the free channels that you can get on Freeview, but UKTV won't allow it, Virgin need to pay for all or get nothing.

But it's like a school playfight between the two! Amazing.
