City were linked with Spartak Moscow’s Quincy Promes on Thursday with France Football reporting of enquiries into multiple wingers around Europe as the club chase a replacement for Riyad Mahrez. If City were to push for Promes, their pursuit would be backed by Louis Tomlinson. The One Direction singer turned X Factor judge tweeted that it would be “a decent move” for City to bring in the Dutch international, who scored 21 goals and provided 10 assists for his club last term. Tomlinson has connections to City, having performed at striker Jamie Vardy’s wedding to partner Rebekah in 2016.
