Before Puel he’d get a lot more chances than create now! He spends large parts of the game not in it,through no fault of his own! I don’t think there’s many strikers who who thrive whilst playing Puel ball!

That’s factually wrong. He’s scored more under Puel last season in the Premier League (15) than he did under Ranieri/Shakespeare the season before (13).

Im sure he ****ing hated having the ball lumped long to him during that season

He'll come good but if Saturday's performance was anything to go by, he needs someone else near him other than Nacho. How poor was he! No excuses, he should of been there or thereabouts when Vardy in text book fashion cut that ball back across the box in the area of the penalty box. Not saying he would have scored but Okazaki would have at least of read that as would Slimani and Ulloa!

Vardy does look both frustrated with Nacho and in general at the moment. Despite his young age,  Iheanacho needs to start stepping up to the plate a bit more.

We’re still doing that now! That’s the only chance we create for him, long ball over the top, predictable.

His goals last season and this were a variety of strikes - that’s why I’d said as an overall player he’s got better.

I think Vardy is playing exactly how he has played for the last year or so, not really in the game but bursts into life at key moments. Unfortunately he didn't take his chance at the weekend whereas in the past he has. He's not a striker who gets a load of opportunities, that's what makes his goal record so great. On our list of problems, Vardy is pretty low down.

well no! he's had to adapt his game to try and get into it under Puel! Its just predictable dull football, I'm pleased for those who enjoy watching it though.

He doesn't seem quite "on it" yet but he'll get there.  If there is one player in the squad I would always trust to come good it is Vardy.  He has proved his worth at every point in his career with us.  I actually feel quite positive as he has had some great chances and had he scored those he would usually be expected to have scored we would be flying high in the league.  X

The statistics say otherwise

He hit 18 league goals in 35 league games under Puel. To give you an comparable idea, excluding the title season he scored 18 league goals over 44 league games under Ranieri/Shakespeare. When you isolate into Ranieri’s second spell playing the same style of football which won us the league, he scored 5 league goals to the point of February.

He’s had to adapt his game because defenders don’t give him the space behind. He can no longer take advantage of the ball behind. He’s been better than ever under Puel - scoring volleys, tap-in’s, 1 on 1s, penalties, even the occasional long ranger. All the evidence says so

Yeah let’s discount the title season then to suit your “facts” did we still win the league then or no? As I said I’m pleased for you that you are happy with the style of play and are enjoying the football under Puel! My chapeau is off to you!

I’ve discounted the title season because its simply clear teams play a different style against us now. And you said Vardy has had to adapt his game - he’s successfully adapted his game within Puel’s tactics to constantly score goals.!

I think thats pretty accepted across the board and if anyone disagrees with me, feel free to correct me.

I dont really underatand the use of ‘facts’, when they are actually are the statistics of his performance. Vardy was great, then his goalscoring went poor and now it’s back good again.

Interestingly just added the title winning season.

Excluding Pearson but Shakespeare and Ranieri - he scored in 54% of league games

Under Puel - he’s scored in 51% of league games

So its nacho's fault that Vardy has been rubbish so far? Get outta town with that nonsense.  Nacho has provided him with a couple assists and has had more impact offensively with his assist totals this season. If anybody needs a new partner it's probably Nacho not Vardy. it's  so hard for some to admit that vardy has seen his best years and is not ever going to reproduce the his form when we won the league.  What we need now is a good target that can hold up the ball and distribute.I'd sell Vardy now to the highest bidder and by a young striker.

No it's not Nacho's fault when Vardy misses his chances of course it's not  but ... it is Nacho's fault when his movement or lack of it off the ball is very evident. It's also his fault when Vardy turns provider on more than one occasion having pulled out to the wing, that he's not busting a gut to get somewhere near the penalty spot for a potential goal scoring opportunity. I don't think it's lazyness, just that he doesn't gamble or appear to see these things. He's young but even when Vardy was suspended,  he didn't exactly take his chance did he and didn't instill any confidence that he could be our number one in the future. Early days, but the team won't wait forever.
