Wymsey Posted 16 December 2018 Posted 16 December 2018 Personally would steer clear of that site. Purchased something on there around a year ago, putting my bank details etc in to do it. Then had a few emails a couple of days after thanking me for buying some trainers and an iPad, which I didn't buy - some culprit used my bank details to buy them; but stupidly they put their own address down as the delivery choice of these goods, so I reported it to Action Fraud and eBay online as well as my local bank manager to explain what happened and they investigated it. Got money back eventually. Obviously afterwards I deleted my eBay account and changed my bank card; and the bank advised me not to use both eBay and Facebook to buy products from other individuals, as there's known to be similar incidents that occurred on these sites.

EBay is 100% safe as long as you use PayPal.

I never keep my bank details saved anywhere. My eBay account is not linked with my PayPal account. When they say "do you want to save your PayPal details for a quicker checkout next time?" it's a no from me.

When she contacted the seller to tell him, he called her a liar and refused to refund or replace. eBay didn't want to know because there was no way of proving her case.
Stinkenzo Posted 16 December 2018 Posted 16 December 2018 Every service whether thats just a random person or a company are going to have a story of shit customer service somewhere. So long as there are a few decent reviews then I'm happy to risk going through with it. But yes if I needed something expensive I wouldn't be going on eBay for it

As long as you pay with PayPal Ebay will always side with the buyer and refund, if anything you're more likely to be scammed as a seller these days
