Veretout isn't a bad player – obviously with hindsight he clearly made the wrong choice, but I'd give him the benefit of the doubt considering that that season Villa were managed by tactics Tim and Remi Garde. 

Not that him choosing Villa (if indeed, we were actually in for him) affected us that year...

For the hefty price that Swansea put on him, he's often been average for Everton imo.

Leicester got the best Mahrez successor possible in Rachid Ghezzal (and what was available for a winger at the time on the market). Brighton fans regret signing him, reading some some of their posts on social media... they prefer Solly March and Anthony Knockaert (Championship Players) to start over him because of how dreadful he’s been.

 

Long story short: Ghezzal>the rest
