davieG Posted 2 April 2019 Posted 2 April 2019 Not the most reliable source- http://sportwitness.co.uk/leicester-city-player-suffers-serious-injury-will-miss-euro-u21-in-summer/ Concern for Leicester City as player suffers ‘serious injury’, cruciate ligament, will miss Euro U21s By Naveen Ullal - 2nd April 2019 Leicester City signed Bartosz Kapustka from Polish club Cracovia in 2016, but the winger has spent time away from the King Power Stadium in the past two seasons. The Foxes allowed the 22-year-old to join Belgian First Division B side OH Leuven on a temporary deal. On March 29th, he came on as a second substitute for Mathieu Maertens in his side’s 1-0 home defeat to Tubize in the league tie. Polish outlet Wprost claims the attacker picked up a ‘serious injury’ against Tubize and this could be force him to miss the summer’s U21 European championship that will take place in Italy in the summer. It’s stated that Kapustka suffered an anterior cruciate ligament damage and the report explains such injuries would require the player to undergo surgery and spend several months on the sidelines. If the reports are true, Kapustka will not feature again this season and it’s a blow to his development. At Leuven, the Polish U21 international was showing positive signs of improvement and the latest injury setback will come as a massive setback to him and a concern to Leicester City. Another source - The drama of Bartosz Kapustka. The results of the study showed that the youth representative of Poland tore off the frontal cruciate ligament in the knee. The 22-year-old falls out of the game for several months and will not go to this year's European U-21 championship. Bartosz Kapustka suffered a trauma on Friday during the match against AFC Tubize (0: 1). The research conducted on Monday confirmed the worst fears - the player broke the cross-ligament in the knee. A few months break in the game awaits him. His performance at the U-21 European Championship is out of the question. This tournament will take place in Italy and San Marino in June . Kapustka is one of the leaders of the Czesław Michniewicz team. He appeared in 11 qualifying games in which he scored one goal and scored four assists. In the playoffs with Portugal he was the best of white and red. What's next with the Cabbage ? The injury also complicates his club situation. He recently returned to form in a Belgian second-class OH Leuven. This season he played in this team in 21 matches, 18 times starting the match from the first minute. In Belgium, he only stays on loan until summer, which was to be extended if the team were promoted to the Belgian Ekstraklasa . It is certain, however, that this will not happen. Therefore, Kapustka will have to return to Leicester City without being fully ready to play . It can be a problem finding a new club in the summer transfer window. Finnegan Posted 2 April 2019 Posted 2 April 2019 Feel incredibly sorry for him on a human level. Imagine how buzzed you'd be after Euro 2016, young guy, just been a stand out at the tournament, compared to Lewandowski in terms of potential, get a move to a Premier league club on the up. Then you struggle to adapt, the club is in turmoil, you get sent everywhere on loan, you're out of the national team and then your leg is absolutely ****ed with one of sports worst injuries. Good god. Best wishes to him, good thing he's still so young.
hackenbacker Posted 2 April 2019 Posted 2 April 2019 ACL - nasty - that's about 1 year to fully recover Wish him the best
TeamRocket Posted 2 April 2019 Posted 2 April 2019 ACL recovery these days are okay. Just depends on how good the Rehabilitation program is. Personaly I wouldn't rush him back to early and rush get re injured
urban fox Posted 2 April 2019 Posted 2 April 2019 must be devastated particularly at such a crucial stage in his development
coolhandfox Posted 2 April 2019 Posted 2 April 2019 Tough on him, but he's got the support of a PL club to help him recover.
