They really had nothing to play for and they did their best to put Dickov off and succeeded. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2004/apr/25/match.leicestercity Today I hope we return the favour.

Nothing to play for isn't correct. They were six points ahead of us and defeat would've left them three ahead with three to play. It was a huge match.

Remember watching it on television and still remember that goal. Think Man City played in red/black stripes Makes me feel old when you see 50 years ago

My first FA Cup final memories were Arsenal v Liverpool in 1971.
Buce Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 I cried all the way home. Bastards. I hope we ruin their party.

born a fox will die a fox Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 I managed to get a lift down to Wembley for this final but went without a ticket. Just before the kickoff I managed to knock a tout down to £4 for the attached £3 seat and took my place as the match kicked off. Can't remember too much now about the match but do remember the huge disappointment on the journey back home. I no longer have that ticket stub as I sold it on ebay in 2009 for a profit.
String fellow Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 If John Sjoberg had been fit to play at centre half, maybe we'd have won. In those days, two of the three channels (BBC1 and ITV) televised it. Another TV highlight came three months later with the first man on the Moon. That year, it was a tale of two Neils - Young and Armstrong!

Guest Manini Posted 8 May 2019 Posted 8 May 2019 My dad got me all 4 of the original FA Cup final programmes mounted and framed a few years ago for my 21st birthday. He must of had to search high and low on eBay for them all. It’s the best gift I’ve ever received - i’m looking at it on my wall right now, the Man City one has always been my favourite.
