one of yours or is it a club one for the remembrance fixture?

Club, we had one planed for tonight but between us and the club it was agreed to move it because of the clubs plans tonight.

If the club planned TIFO is a poppy, can’t not say that I feel it’s inappropriate. I always feel uncomfortable when big companies use symbols like a Poppy, it feels forced and inauthentic. Remembrance day is so important but it shouldn’t be about trying to out-do each other. Less is more.

What's not authentic about it?

Who exactly would they be trying to outdo by using it?

If they drop it for minutes silences and applauses then it should be done at full time IMO.

It’s my viewpoint. When I ponder the horrific world wars that innocent civilians died in, I like a personal, quiet moment of reflection. It feels forced that’s all. Not to say I’ve not felt the club in the last 20 years since that first remembrance fixture against Blackburn Nov 2003, have done some really good stuff for this fixture. Was always touching to see Birch on the pitch conveying his emotion whilst wearing his father’s medals.  I will wear my red poppy tonight and remember those without the club’s help.

Congrats! A triple-negative. Not sure if I’ve ever seen one before. I am now probably going to miss kick-off whilst I Google the hell out of this to work out of it means you are for or against. 😖

everyone in the UK and further has used the poppy as a symbol of remembrance for over 100 years. It would be utterly bizarre to use something completely different now.

Please see my post further down, I will be wearing my poppy tonight! It’s just my opinion re club thing with a giant poppy. Of course it would be bizarre.

Unless we lose and then most will want to be away rather than singing WYS whilst watching the Dirty Leeds fans celebrating.

In short I wear a red poppy, I just think less is more. We see all over the country it has been trivialised by organisations outdoing each other.

There does seem to be more celebrities wearing bigger and posher poppies as fashion accessories. Perhaps it's because they remember more. I'm not keen on the dual club/poppy enamel badge that some wear. Club allegiance is irrelevant at this time.

That said, it doesn't really matter, as long as the wearers have donated appropriately.
