urban.spaceman Posted 6 October 2019 Posted 6 October 2019 It took Arsenal 96 minutes to beat us. As depressing as it was at the time, it inspired us to go on and win the ****ing Premier League. Today it took a Liverpool side on a record winning run 95 minutes and an extremely controversial penalty to beat us. It's early days. We've a young side. We've an excellent manager. Days like today are extremely important. I'm not saying we're going to win the league, but we're certainly capable of achieving great things this season. Our newest hero said it better: I ****ing love this football club. We're going to do something brilliant this season. I can feel it.
Izzy Posted 6 October 2019 Posted 6 October 2019 I know what you're saying urban. I had the same feeling at full-time yesterday as when Arsenal beat us that day. The players reaction afterwards showed how upset they were and we held our own against the European champions. It's testament to how far we've come and how much the team and manager believe in themselves that they were so angry and frustrated. I genuinely think they went to Anfield expecting to get something and played with no fear. Pissed off with the result and how it happened but couldn't be prouder of them.
ALC Fox Posted 6 October 2019 Posted 6 October 2019 The loss vs United was frustrsting beceause we know we're better than them. The draw vs Chelsea was because we can go toe-to-toe and deserved three points after the 90. The loss vs Liverpool was because we know we can dig in and deserve a point against the champions of Europe. Each setback is spurring us on to better things this season. I just hope that feeling continues beyond the international break. Burnley are no mugs and they look like they could do something again this season. We can't take them lightly. The more I expect from this season, the more nervous I get. But this squad is looking confident and could well have a similar togetherness as the Immortals. And they're a bloody talented lot too.
Blue ROI Posted 6 October 2019 Posted 6 October 2019 Was gutted with the Arsenal Loss in 2016. Yes the selfie afterwards was irritating but there wasn't anythng too dodgy about it. Unfortunate with the late goal in a more important game but nowhere near as bad as yesterday. Woud hope it inspires us for the rest of the season. Hopefully it might spur us on for a cup run aswell.
shailen Posted 6 October 2019 Posted 6 October 2019 I said exactly the same thing in the match forum yesterday. From memory didn't Ranieri come out and say we are in the hunt for champions league after that game or something to refocus the players.
HybridFox Posted 6 October 2019 Posted 6 October 2019 Good thing about this time round is we'll get an opportunity to get our own back in the home game.

However the behaviour of the Arsenal players that day was horrid and desperate
