Mark Posted 2 November 2005 Posted 2 November 2005 http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/...~736014,00.html Reserves Paddle To A PointCity's reserve team came up against an experienced Fulham side on Wednesday night and came back from a goal down to register a 1-1 draw. Their opponents may have included Premiership regulars such as Zat Knight and Sylvain Legwinski, but the young Foxes were not phased and put in a solid performance in difficult conditions. Having already been subject to an afternoon pitch inspection, the game was in doubt due to a heavy downpour prior to kick-off. As the match got underway the rain continued and at times worsened, though both sides stuck doggedly to their task and the Hinckley United pitch held up well. After 21 minutes, a floated free kick found Saheed Sankoh at the far post with the goal at his mercy and he put the visitors one up with a neat header. But Leicester struck straight back within a minute. Ricky Muggleton made space for himself at the edge of the area and fired in a fierce shot which forced a diving save from Drobny in the Fulham goal. Ryan Beswick was on hand to slot away the loose ball and draw his side level. The match was again in question at half-time as the officials conferred in the centre circle. Their decision to continue was borne out when the rain stopped in the opening minutes of the second period. The water-logged surface made it hard for either team to get a hold of the game. City twice came close to scoring a winner from distance through Scott Lycett and substitute Billy McKay, while Paul Henderson produced a fine save from a Sankoh drive and in the end a draw seemed a fair result. CITY: Paul Henderson, Scott Lycett, Peter Gilbert, Andy King, Liam Norval, Alan Sheehan, Max Gridell (Tom Tejan-Sie 84), Levi Porter, James Graham (Billy McKay 69), Ricky Muggleton, Ryan Beswick (Connor Franklin 86) Subs (not used): Conrad Logan, Adam Wykes FULHAM: Jaroslav Drobny, Dean Leacock, Liam Rosenior, Ian Pearce, Zat Knight, Sylvain Legwinski (Yinka Casal 62), Elliot Omozusi, Wayne Brown, Saheed Sankoh, Bradley Hudson-Odoi (Lee Hall 69), Robert Milsom Subs (not used): Mark Davidson, Robert Watkins, Kazeem Orelaja
Ric Flair Posted 3 November 2005 Posted 3 November 2005 http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/...~736014,00.html That Beswick is meant to be quite talented, think we got him from Chelsea.
