Well, that was fun.  Joy for the home crowd.  And it's always worth watching Mercier play.

 

But I've got my doubts about Sory Kaba's style on a penalty run-up.

Just got back from the game. What a relief! A deserved win though. It took a while before we got a goal, but it was merited. Indeed, a lot of players don't dare to take a shot at goal, this was one of their strengths last season so I don't know why they hesitate. Kaba scored twice today, but he has the balance of a newborn baby... he's the total opposite of Henry, but as long as he keeps on scoring I guess that will do. Tamari was poor today, wrong passes, low workrate (he doesn't follow the player he needs to mark because he doesn't want to get tired). Romo was acting weird in the first half... I shat my pants a few times when he touched the ball. I don't know what is up with him... lost some confidence maybe? Schrijvers finally had a good game, he was envolved, and dared to shoot at goal. Maertens was playing clever, together with Keita (I don't think we'll see Malinov on again soon). Mercier was his good old self again most of the match. Defense was solid with those 3 towers at the back. The atmosphere was topnotch  today, and the win gave us a taste for more. I think everyone became a believer again tonight!

I can only echo most of what Phugalu said (and I also just got back home :D). I think this may have been the game we needed for a while now. Should do wonders for confidence at least. Schrijvers was excellent (defensively as well, by the way), and it's early days for Keita but I'm more impressed by the game at how mature he plays and how easy he makes things look. I think the comparison with Tielemans isn't that far off, with Keita probably being better defensively and Tielemans having a way better shot (with both feet).
