I did use to love that old open terrace at Barnsley though. Absolutely nothing like that where we go now and it had a special feel.

I've only been to Oakwell the once.

They had Jan Molby playing for them. He was never what you could call 'svelte', but he'd properly been at the pies by then.

I think we drew and, at the whistle, the police kept us back for a while and then escorted us away.

I’ve been a few times, we always seem to take a decent following there. I used to love a Saturday afternoon up there standing under a slate grey Yorkshire sky and a cold wind blowing across the terrace. The stadium was pretty much all standing apart from a small main stand where the second tier was seated like our old main stand at filbert street. When I last went and they had built new stands, especially the away stand I was so disappointed, it had lost so much of its charm.

They used to do great pies as well. It was the first away ground I went to which is probably why I like it so much.

Also those that moan about being asked to sit down at away matches now, I remember one trip to there when I was asked to put my arms down when we were all signing by one of the coach 1 crew. lol

on the BeIN sports coverage there was a guy as one of the commentators on the game called Gary. Was this the Garry Birtles?  Whoever it was he couldn't get enough of Vardy!

I've heard Birtles a few times on our games in the Premier League and he's said he enjoys watching us play and is a huge fan of Vardy.

I used to think he spent most of the match complaining on Sky when he was a FL commentator but never got the impression he was against us in particular.

Ian Wright loves him.

Yes. Seems like most strikers can't get enough. They, more than anyone, must appreciate his ability. Respect.
