It happened with Ricardo....with Justin....last season with Soyuncu....Ndidi in the past and arguably Vards players getting rushed back into a run of matches so soon after long injury layoffs.

I'm now getting the impression from a large segment of City fans that they want Wes and Evans in every match unless they are injured....think they mean until.....its pure madness....we need to learn from past mistakes and with Amartey and Cags playing well there's no excuse not to ease them in gently

If what you're saying has any substance then the last people to blame for it are the fans.

Fans are the first to moan if we lose and X, Y and Z wasn't playing

The last 2 seasons it feels like our hand has been forced a number of times with injuries to the current first team just as a player is coming back, so they have to go straight into the side. Fofana having to play in Rennes is a perfect example.

Regardless of how well you manage it there is always a higher than normal risk of another when a player returns from a lengthy lay off. Hard to know if it is just bad luck or any sort of mismanagement, injury crises are common place throughout football history it just feels like we've been going through 2 years of horrendous injury problems.

Fofana and Evans both playing tonight, who do we blame if they get injured? The fans? Absolute nonsense.

People forget that returning players can get injuries which are unrelated to previous injuries and nothing to do with being rushed back. Sometimes they just happen.

The number of numpties I've heard blaming the medical team for Vardy's impact injury is ridiculous.

I think if we hadn’t “overplayed” players coming back from injury this season we wouldn’t have been able to field a team. We’ve had that many out and always had somebody coming back from injury.

It’s a vicious circle sometimes. Players coming back from injury aren’t as conditioned as players who are match fit, but the only way they get match fit is to play them.

Personally I’m just getting a bit bored with this narrative now. I think the focus should shift to why we’re getting so many injuries in the first place and what conditioning we can do in the closed season. Because a few years ago our injury record was one of the best
