Wales is a country (as is Scotland), Brabant is a historic Duchy and Holland a historic county with North Holland, South Holland and North Brabant being provinces of the modern Netherlands akin to England's modern local authorities. 

 

It’s not a sovereign country, though. The provinces in the Netherlands aren’t really same as shires in the U.K. more like what used to be the 9 regions. Beautiful how pedantic this has become, nicely juxtapositioned with posts declaring Wales part of England.

Its officially a decentralised unitary state with a constitutional monarchy. Make of that what you will. It is entirely different to Germany which is a federal republic like the  U.S.A.

When "Staged" came out during the pandemic, I told my wife that my friends in the States would speak about those two English actors in it.
