strange winning 5-1 and giving so many 5.5s and 6's out. Created a lot but boy did we concede a lot of chances and can't remember us winning a single first header when defending corners either.

Ward's contribution under-rated today given how shaky our back line still was. Kept us in the game and allowed us to go on to tonk them. Some great saves, and more shockingly given what we're used to this season, actually claimed some crosses.

Ward did fine, made some good saves:schmike:

Harsh but I thought Barnes was crap apart from 2 really well taken goals:blush:

(He did make that really dumb foul that lead to Watfords opener)

Fofana at one point had to run past a couple of Watford players just so he had an angle to pass backwards.

...our second goal going in, took the wind out of Watford's sails!!!

The same issues were there to see and had we gone 2 goals down, it could have been a disaster.

The good news is that we didn't, and it wasn't.

Absolutely no offence intended in this, but the coulds and might have beens are for the birds.

...very true regarding his (Ward) contribution today!!!

Failed to come off his line with balls landing in the 6 yard box. You get the impression that they are being coached to not come for the ball.

If Kasper and Ward have the same coach then you will no doubt get similar attitudes.

Ward was fine - i knew he would be. He was OK against Watford back in January but like the rest of the team had a stinker against Forest. Probably shouldn't have played the Forest match but think that was more contractual than anything.

However, in terms of the whole coming off his line debate, there is no magical upgrade on Kasper here.  Someone like him is going to have to get game time, so if we keep him there will need to be more rotation next year beyond just the cup games. Otherwise he should go somewhere where he is going to get more first team football.

...the coming off the line, is the debate!!!

The amount of pressure he can take off the backline by coming for crosses in the 6 yard box would save us a few goals and get us points.

Kasper's detractors are unhappy that he chooses to stay on his line, it is a big negative that surrounds his game. To improve on Kasper it would mean someone who comes for crosses and is a good shot stopper.

Pickford should be a candidate along with Henderson to fulfil the role.

Pickford has been in fine form of late especially against us but he can be shakey and I wouldn’t want him over Kasper just yet even if we could afford him and would want to come here. Henderson is a great prospect but I can’t see him coming here either. If Burnley go down I think Pope would be a great addition to give more competition and see if Kasper wants to fight it out. Otherwise I think we will say things stay the same for next season.
