Watching this on Disney plus.

Basically two Hollywood stars bought the football club and are going to try to get it promoted into the league with dreams of the Premier league.

Huge always sunny fan so have been watching this and really enjoying it. Get the feeling Rob really is invested in it and seems to have a lot of respect for the local people. Still need to watch the third episode and looking forward to it.

It's definitely great entertainment. Like you've said, I'm pleasantly surprised by how invested they seem to be and how respectful to the community they are, because it clearly started as a bit of an opportunity for good tv considering they were filming it before they had a bid accepted. 

 

I do wonder how long they will be in it for though, they will almost certainly hit a ceiling quite soon. The belief they can actually make it to the Premier League just because it isn't a closed club like in US sports seems slightly delusional, but hey Americans are known for their positivity.

I live 10mins drive away from Wrexham, R&R has given the whole city and club a massive lift! My in laws were in the trust and I thought they were joking when they told me who was trying to purchase the club.

 

only seen 1 episode so far and you can see the commerciality of the club will be massive for them going forward. (Fully expect to see a Wrexham fc reference in the next deadpool film) 

 

not sure if it’s in the documentary but the Wrexham sign mimicking the Hollywood sign was brilliant PR

 

most Americans and Canadians will have Wrexham as “their” team 

 

definitely will get up this season

I did find the original trailer amusing declaring it an "underdog story" with Paul Mullin on £4000 p/w.

To be fair, they did not go for him straight away, they give the team and manager already there a chance until the end of that season, guess what happened.
