If only the games ended after half time, we would have so many more points on the board and be further up the table.

 

My key question is why do we always perform the best in the first half and then fall apart second half?

Fitness and poor game management.

One answer could be use of our bench and equally resources on our bench. We’re having fresh legs running at us whereas we seem reluctant to do the same until last chance saloon time, possibly due to the faith in the quality available. Maybe there are stats somewhere to back this up?

It's because we usually set up ok and then the opposition manager has us sussed, makes tactical changes at half time and we don't know what to do about it.

BR does not adapt his style, other managers make changes that makes a difference

Sounds like when Adams was manager. If games ended on 80 minutes we’d have comfortably been top 10. As it happened the games were 90 minutes and we got relegated.

not only did adams do a decent job (overall), he also knew when to quit.

Yes agree. He said in an interview that it was the lack of quality we had. Other teams could make late subs to influence games where as we didn’t have enough on the bench and suffered as a result.

To be fair, even so we would still be about 14th. We have only been winning at halftime once and that was opening day vs Brentford

We do get worse in the 2nd half, but don't gloss over the fact we are still poor in the first half

Been saying for a while now that this squad really isn’t fit enough. We’ve not been able to compete for a full 90 minutes for a long long time now.

 

Its also the reason we are one of the very few teams in the league that don’t consistently press, not fit enough.
