Anyone ever had their roof cleaned?

So I’ve just had a quote…

Includes repair to the chimney stack and cleaning, moss removal, etc.

Three grand.     :jawdrop:

I think I’ll get another quote!

£500, a ladder, a Karcher, 12 cans of Beavertown Neck Oil and an extra 3 shots next time we play golf

Edit: That DOES NOT include any chimney stack repair.

And it doesn't come with a guarantee.

A couple of hundred for roof cleaning, gutters and windows is ridiculously cheap and I would question the work done. Was it just a roof scrape? (Even then still cheap) any chemicals used, where they a legit company with insurance exc.

Roof scrape and treatment with an anti fungal spray. Just double checked with the missus it was £400+ I might have underestimated with a couple of hundred, I knew it seemed very reasonable.

Ha ha, yes very reasonable lol

£400+ I’d say is a fair price.

I’m setting up a new business I think, £3k 👀, next to no overheads or materials. I’m in the wrong game.

Agree!

I got a bit more info from my other half (I wasn’t there for the quote).

The guy who came round said it was a two day job with scrape, steam clean and not power wash, repointing where needed, re-render of the chimney and anti-fungal treatment all over.

Still expensive, but maybe a little more understandable.

Someone coming round tomorrow so I’ll have a better idea of what’s a realistic amount.
