But you could say that about almost any club.

I've been to Stoke, Derby, Forest, West Brom, Birmingham, and Wolves when the atmosphere has been absolutely shite.

And I've also been to those same grounds that have occasionally been rocking ... when something good has happened.

Oh for sure, but it does feel with us that the fanbase is abnormally passive.

Rudkin aint going anywhere. Doubt King Power are either.

Can’t see them ever moving the club on because of the crash.

Been holding off saying this for a while as knew I will probably get shot down for it, heard a lot of rumours from people that do a bit of business with the club’s higher up that prior to relegation, there was serious interest in listening to potential offers hence they were trying to push a stadium expansion to increase value.

Relegation and a build up of debt made the club a lot less attractive and massively decreased value. Partly a reason Top cleared some of the debt himself.

Could be BS but came from people last year that would be impacted negatively should they sell up, take of it what you will.

No idea what the current situation is.

Highlight from yesterday’s game was me standing and chanting, getting involved for a person a few rows in front to turn around and tut followed by a shake of the head. I sit in B1 which I acknowledge isn’t gonna be jumping about but fu*k me.

Mate the best part of yesterdays game for me was shouting FUCHS for the first time in a few years

I’m in my 30s and that’s pretty ageist, anyone that follows something up whether it’s ageist or racist etc with a caveat to say it isn’t, generally means it is.

my dads late 60s and falls into the bracket above, are you saying he should give up his ticket?

Agree.  I think this age thing is a bit bollocks to be honest.  I've ranted about this before so i wont rant again.

We dont have a huge amount of singers most of the time , ill accept that but from what ive seen when sk1 does make some noise its as much guys in 40s (like me) and 50s that sing as young uns.   In fact i recognise a few faces from the old pens at filbo.  Id say theres as many young uns on their phones not singing as there are old gits (i can say it as im old ) not singing.

I was speaking to the mechanic who does my car, big Leicester fan and we got onto the topic of our fanbase. He was in the pens and said that Leicester has never been a singing club, its natural state is to be quiet and reserved. It can get going but ultimately it’s never at any point been particularly good. Maybe it’s just not in the clubs culture.

Id agree to a point.  The pens were very good when they were good but it wasn't constant.  Intermittent with lulls.

But away, we certainly have voices, especially in the past.  I took a girl (who eventually became my daughters mum) to a couple of away games in league one and the championship years ago.  Hereford and cov if i remember right.  She was a football nut and her dad had taken her to man utd, cov, Newcastle, villa but she was amazed that the pub we were in before the game was bouncing .....and it was.....she loved it, especially when bernie came in and he was lifted up and sung to.  I remember her being in a daze saying "i want to call someone so they can hear this!!"  she said other teams she had seen had never created an atmosphere like it pre match and thought in the ground we matched any other team she had seen away.  Its there, its in us.  I just dont know why we dont do it all the time.  Preston last season, Southampton this season.  We need to bring that energy to every game .

Oh we have it in us for sure. I think that’s where we are above the likes of a Fulham, Brentford, Bournemouth when we do a Preston away for example. I think it’s a mentality issue. People come and there’s just an air of can’t be arsed to be here. I don’t get it at all. I know a lot of people get pissed off when Leeds are bought up when atmosphere is discussed but them lot have a real pride in their club and city. They are proper up for it. We just don’t seem to have anything close to it and whilst it’s an English football problem, we have to do better.

Agreed with Leeds .  I couldn't get a ticket for leeds away last season so it was radio leicester for that one.  And no exageration, you could not hear the commentators (some would say that's a good thing 😂) towards the end.  It sounded incredible.

People dont like it but leeds are good .  Cov are too from what ive seen although granted ive only ever seen them live against us, and they are bang up for it.

It is English football in general, premier league especially but even tho im getting on, i still like to make a bit of noise and feel the energy from the crowd.  If i wanted to sit quietly i could do that at home

The cov game was their biggest for years and it was loud but it’s not been like that since or even close. But I remember thinking at the end of that game that we wouldn’t be able to produce anything close to that at home. Leeds have historically always had really good support and I think they thrive on that reputation. There’s levels to the passion that each club has. It seems we’ve lost it.

Many of the suggestions in this thread seem to mention about Leicester never having a good fan base, filbert street was better, other teams have a better support.. but why can’t we as a fanbase change that?

I’ve tired to suggest meeting people in here who want to change or form a group or something but get no response. People happy to moan but not do anything about it.

It's all excuses. People just can't admit they don't want to open their gobs. It's weird.

I agree, that at the moment, we're particularly bad.   We're on a big "down" phase after having a period of success some years back.

As has been said before, the likes of Forest and Cov have been shite for 20 years, and are currently on a "high" and up for it.   Give it time, that will change.

Got tickets at the very front of the section for QPR.

Kop looks like it’ll be ****ing empty. Only those who really want to go are going. I think the section at 1/3 capacity against QPR will make as much noise as it would in a normal premier league game. Weirdly I’m looking forward to it.

We were in the section for the Birmingham cup game last season and I thought it was one of the best atmosphere's of the year.

Was in L1 next to the QPR fans in last seasons league game and I thought they gave a decent account of themselves.

Hopefully it'll be decent. Enjoy.

Are we now seeing the affects of reap what you sow?  I could go on a rant  about ticket availability and prices and most would agree. The club has neglected so many fans they really don't give a shit anymore

Our fans gave up just before our players did. No wonder they give up near the end of the games because we do too. As soon as second went in they gave up as we did too- can’t blame them

We have a game being destroyed from within by shit tippy tappy boredom and from without by VAR and the search for"perfection".

Balls bounce and bumpy pitches, refs, players and managers make decisions which can be mistakes... is a fvcking game.

If ima 10 year old looking at spending a few hours on boxing day... im not gonna spend it sitting uncomfortably in a ffreezing foggy shithole watching 23 blokes stand around for close to ten minutes while somone sits indoors looking at the same 3 seconds of "action" over and over again.

The kids wont go, the old folk will die, the top league will move to the middle east and be played in airconditioned indoor centres in front of paid supporters.
