As a fan, I’m excited for our next game. Just because of the three signings. I want to see what Tete can do. I want to see Souttar dominate both boxes and I’m excited to see more of Khristiansen.

Ive not been excited to see us play for weeks.

I think this will also excite the squad. Which can only be a good thing.

In terms of the signings, they are “Leicester type” signings. That doesn’t always mean they will be a success (we have plenty who have struggled) but they certainly fit that bill.

With Albrighton and Perez it would’ve been good to bring in one other. A loan. And I was desperate for a new keeper as I do believe we have a keeper who wouldn’t impress me in the championship. But you can’t have it all.

So yeah, good window.

Squad of 25 for rest of season

WARD, Iversen, Smithies

CASTAGNE, Ricardo, (Justin)

KRISTIANSEN, Thomas

FAES, SOUTTAR, Evans, Amartey, Soyuncu

TIELEMANS, KDH, Ndidi, Mendy, Braybrooke

TETE, MADDISON, BARNES, Praet

IHEANACHO, Vardy, Daka

Vestergaard, Bertrand, Perez, Albrighton out of squad and Justin not quite training yet.

Light at left back an RW as per. 1 injury in each area and we are toast

We only had one LB before Kristiansen signed.

Nobody like Perez and let's be honest Albrighton (who asked for the loan) was effectively finished as a PL player, he couldn't have played 90 minutes regularly, we have Praet (if he can stay fit) and at a push (far from ideal) Maddison moves back into that position.

Mostly happy, sad to see Marc go as he always gives 100% commitment. With Ricardo back in training, and Justin not too far off we do have further wide options if Tete flops or gets injured.

Would have liked a new GK, and a new Manager, but most of all better physio. We need to stop the injuries.

If we stay up, we have a massive summer rebuild, but I am philosophical about relegation. I have always thought that I haven't seen our last relegation. Supporting this club is a wild ride.

Has something changed? Thought he was effectively out for the season.

I’m going to show caution on that question.

Borrowing money against future tv revenue to desperately try and do business you should have done in the summer had the club been managed better can never be classed as a ‘good’ window.

I hope we’ve done enough to stave off relegation and that is no doubt the hope inside the club but I’m not so sure. We’ll be in a hell of a mess if this gamble doesn’t pay off.

Keeper was a priority position for me and we didn’t even seemingly flirt with the idea of a new signing there. But glad we’ve addressed central defence (even though it’s a big step up for Souttar) and right wing (even if letting Albrighton then leave would be nonsensical).

So I wouldn’t say a good window. Just a necessary one. Hopefully in time a pivotal one in the right sense.

Basically where I'm at - it's an improvement and nobody could argue it isn't, but largely forced through previous failings and we did still drop what could prove a clanger at the end.

Better but not perfect.
