A Good Window?

Reasonable window. Still needed a few extra. A GK (La Font) and CM (La Fee) come to mind.

 

We needed a few in now to embed into squad as the summer is going to be a complete overhaul with lots of players leaving/out of contract.

 

With players returning we should see us over the line but next season the side/squad is going to look completely different

His cameo against Newport was enough to show me he’s got class, in the same way that Mahrez’s first touch on coming on as a substitute when we signed him was enough. You can see it.

Agree with all of that. Although I’m a little more optimistic than your final sentence. Think with injuries returning and the 3 new players, I’m pretty hopeful we will start to move up the table!

If Barnes gets injured surely we have to play wing backs. Maddison, Praet and even Ricardo could fill in on the right.
 

Who do we have that could play left wing? Unless we copy what we’ve been doing on the right with Maddison coming in and Kristiansen pushing on like Castagne has been.

Brunt and Bertrand will probably be named in the 25 as they were for the first half of the season

idk how people are saying ayoze and albrighton leaving has made us weaker going forward? both played less than 10 times this season and contributed to 1 goal each. Less in depth maybe but not less in terms of quality

Agreed. A big plus (for our survival chances) is holding onto Youri and Madders. It means we hold onto quality players who can win games for us. Paradoxically it makes the summer window a nightmare, when we could lose them both for very little compo.

Just hope BR doesn't fall out with the new signings, and that he chooses to play them as soon as they're ready.

We signed players for the positions we needed to, barring GK.

 

We can only really say if it's been good or not at the end of the season; then we can evaluate the players and see how they did. I remember thinking that Bertrand, Soumare, Daka and Vestergaard (yes really) was a good window that improved our depth and potentially our first team, but none of those players truly cemented themselves into the first team. We need the new boys to make an impact right away, because we are in big big trouble.

 

Seeing Albrighton go makes me sad. He might only have been an off the bench player, but he always had the right attitude. He put the team first! Time catches up with us all, but I feel like he had a part to play. But you can't hold it against him.

Maybe getting them off the wage bill was a priority, especially with Vestergaard, Praet and Soyuncu staying.

On balance (balance being perhaps an apt word), yes.

 

We've strengthened at LB, and hopefully CB, and added (again hopefully) a class attacking option.

 

Of course, we've had to make room - both on the team sheet and the balance sheet - perhaps not the ideal, nor intended, outgoings but needs must. I certainly feel more optimistic about the options we have now.

Maybe you're right. Albrighton, like Schmeichel and Vardy, seems like a very popular person in the dressing room however. Maybe the intangible loss is significant.

 

But on the flip side, this should give more opportunities to academy players. Only way to find out if they can cut it at this level.

On the whole it feels like it has been a decent window. We managed to recruit three players in the critical positions of left full back Cb and right wing albeit the latter on loan. I feel we left ourselves a bit short in cover up front particularly out wide right by letting albrighton and perez go both of whom are quite versatile. I do accept that letting these two go is also a positive step in terms of moving out the aging and rarely played members of the team which will be a slightly more manageable task come the summer. It’s a shame we couldn’t move on Jannick and Ryan but not surprising whilst keeping Youri and madders will be essential given our current league position. Overall I think it has to be taken as a net positive
