Decent. Strengthened most of the weakest areas and all young, ambitious players too.

Would've liked a couple more out, however.

It all depends if we can stay injury free. We're a couple of injuries away from a seeing Praet on the wing and Madders being taken away centrally.

It's really odd how we've let both Perez and Albrighton go...

Not sure we have done enough. Championship centre half and a full back who hasn't played for weeks.

Tete might be OK though 😆

We've clearly got limited funds.

Albrighton going negates a good deal of the positive work we did by taking out maybe the only player I trust to lead by example away during the most crucial months we've faced since this time in 2008.

Unless these new faces have the knackers about them to start to change the culture and drag a few of the cowards and lazy charlatans in the dressing room along with them, we're still going to be hopeless. There's nobody in our existing squad before this window now who I think has it in them to face and navigate a relegation battle, save Evans at a push, and he sank with West Brom before so I'm not sure about that.

I live in hope. Souttar could be the spark, but it's a lot to ask of someone signed from mid-table in the Championship to come into this mess and lead from day one.

I think so, we still have madders and Youri, a new LB who looks top level, a CB who joins Faes, and an inverted Brazilian RW, only part that worries me is our keeper and centre forwards, but I think we’ll have enough to survive

About a 7/10

Kept both Youri and Madders, and added some good young players in key positions

Would've liked if we got rid of a few more such as Vestergaard and Soyuncu, and got a few more young players like Wormleighton and Braybrooke out on loan

Versatile forward, even if was Harrison, would've topped it off nicely

Its been decent , when you look at the last ones its clear big efforts have been made and we would of been in big trouble if not.  one more to make it perfect but it's the best for ages , only problem is the other sides down the bottom have been busy as well , the EPL is getting serious with no lame ducks and everyone spending, apart from Everton this window , its suicide watch over at Gooderson. We kept madders , until summer hopfully he is going to play out of his skin before his big move and it should be enough..   Keep the faith :scarf:

It’s always too early to judge these things but I’m optimistic.

Still don’t have a proper goalkeeper and it is sad seeing Albrighton go even though that’s more about sentiment as he’s obviously not the player he once was. But in general we’ve got 3 players in who’ll hopefully improve the side.

I think the key areas we needed to address were left back, centre half and right wing and I'm delighted we've gotten decent players in in these positions, however I'm disappointed with the Albrighton departure as it leaves us weak plus he is a leader in the squad.

We’ve improved the first team:

Kristiansen > Thomas

Souttar > Amartey

Tete > Albrighton (taking away the emotion of what he has done. Club legend)

Kept Maddison and Tielemens.

Only downside is Keeping a championship keeper.

Solid 8/10

Are we sure kristiansen is better than Thomas? Or Souttar is better than big dan?

Both completely unproven at premier league level.

I would say that both Thomas and Amartey are both unproven at premier league level! Or proven to not be good enough…

Your completely right , unproven but clearly a lot of though has gone into looking at what the potential is and they should be improvements we have good reason to be optimistic.    kristiansen looked great when he came on , i feel like he is a safe bet .  Tete ?  this kid is not only exiting with huge potential he helps with his position , we have been crying out for this.  Big Harry , i  feel like is the biggest risk ,  but looked world class in the world cup , so fingers crossed he can cut it.  and we are week in that position any way.

I think we've bought players in the main areas we are looking extremely vulnerable in, with the exception of goal keeper. That said, I'M GONNA RESERVE JUDGEMENT TO SEE IF WE HAVE ACTUALLY 'STRENGTHENED' - (though not use of CAPS apparently) until I've seen any of them perform in the Premier League more than 30 mins...

If we're not lucky with injuries, letting Albrighton AND Perez go without Harrison in could bite us.

We were under stocked with wide players and now we're down another. We've improved the starting eleven but made the squad a little bit more vulnerable to injury.

It's a gambit. I mean, if Tete stays fit it isn't relevant and we're fine. But still.

Trying to see it in context with what other clubs have done - are the clubs around us likely to have a better second half of season ? Bournemouth and Southampton have invested, Everton seem to have looked within for improvement whilst I don’t know if Forest are preparing a Premier League squad or a testimonial :dunno:. Are there 3 clubs weaker than us still? West Ham seem stale, our hope is they, Everton, Southampton and Bournemouth struggle to put any results together. A little run of momentum for two of them and we’re in big trouble.

Hopefully the new faces and the competition they bring will change the mood around the club but similarly Southampton and Bournemouth will be saying just the same. Everton are in tin- hat dogs of war territory and West Ham have players you feel must have a better second half of season.

On the face of it, it certainly looks like we've strengthened our starting 11 in 3 seperate areas but I suppose we won't know that untill the end of the season so I would hesitantly say its been a good window.

I will say that seemingly signing Souttar early in the  day and waiting until after the deadline to announce it in a god awful way has illogicaly P!ssed me right off for no good reason though and I'm not 100% convinced that letting Albrighton go was the right call given his squad status/workrate/ability to play several positions.

Well we needed a LB, CB and RW and got them so that’s all positive.

I’d have liked another goalkeeper, a few more out and to keep Albrighton. Bizarre decision to let MA go in a relegation battle. He’d have led by example and been cover for a few positions.

I’m just hoping that Souttar can hit the ground running. It would also be good if Evans could stay fit or Soyuncu could have some sort of redemption as I worry about both our current CBs.

Truth is that our squad is still poor and we‘re desperate for a bit of luck with injuries otherwise we could be in trouble. None of these, however, are the fault of this window, but the cumulative effect of many. This is probably (on the face of it at least) one of our best windows for ages.
