If their contract isn't up, tell them tough you are staying and playing in the championship. Don't let them jump ship when they play like that.....

Wow 🤣🤣🤣🤣 so they don't play for you in the prem, and you think they will in the championship.

No fvck em off. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 that just sums up what our fans know about the game.

You seriously want to keep players that don't want to play?

What I mean is clauses that enable players still under contract to leave if another team offers a certain amount of money.  Like the release clause we had for Kante, but only activated if we’re relegated.

Example - Johnny Evans had one at WBA when we bought him for a cut price fee (£3.5m ?). His relegation release clause in his West Brom contract allowed us to buy him for a low transfer fee.

This is ridiculously pessimistic to be honest. Maddison will still go for north of 40, more if there's a bidding war. Barnes is under contract until 2025 and is of significant importance to us.

Those two combined will bring in close enough to 100 on their own.

I know people love to cry about how incompetent they perceive us to be but we're still the club that held out for record fees for Maguire and Fofana. I mean the latter pretty much downed tools and threw a tantrum and we still took Chelsea for eye watering amounts.

When you factor in the players we're getting off the wage bill, parachute payments and the fact we banked most of the Fofana money we're really not in the mess a lot of you are making out and the idea we'll be forced to have a budget clearance sale and wave off all our best players for cheap is silly.

Whatever hysterical, over the top view people now have of our owners, they're still ultra capitalist retail giants. It's not just Top on his own either is it, it's a group and they know a thing or two about buying and selling, they aren't going to fvck off our prize assets for pennies.

Doesn't really matter if we get 3 billion though does it when the money is invested in absolute trash.

Probably go towards adding a polo arena at Seagrave or something.

Yes that's what I'm wondering.  Because on paper we've got some valuable players, but it looks very different if we have to sell them for bargain prices.

Unfortunately us supporters don't know the answer regarding contract release clauses, or wage reduction clauses.

I'm sure Rudkin has ensured the right decisions were made at the time of agreeing the contracts! :crylaugh:

I had a similar conversation with a random in the pub before the Everton game, basically saying we should have made Rodgers stay and manage us in The Championship to punish him. Some football fans are absolutely crazy.

Just because someone has a different opinion to you doesn't make them a snowflake. I stand by the fact I think you are rude 🤫
