Personal opinion mate. I’ve worked with a number of European ‘fitness’ coaches who frankly I’ve been bemused at the standard of their work considering where they had been in their careers, and the standard of the job they had at the time. They typically tend to be a managers man rather than a club appointment which explains it to some extent.

The term fitness coach tends to be an all encompassing title in Europe, very rare that the role is broken down into different disciplines as it is over here but I imagine he will lead developing the on-field physical capacities in line with Maresca’s tactical vision. Without knowing them personally I regard the staff at Leicester quite highly, those who I know who do know them speak extremely highly of them from a professional and personal view. I hope they are given a chance to rebuild their department to what they feel is best practice for the club considering the facility they have access to rather than have practices dictated to them.

I’m not going to write him off, I’ve bookmarked some of his interviews and content that he has put out and will give it a read/listen over the coming days. As I said I’m not keen, but more personal opinion than anything else. I’m sure I will be proven wrong.

Interesting response. Not going to disagree as you’ve clearly got a lot of knowledge on the topic so fair play. Hope we keep the core basis of our fitness department in place as it’s certainly not been the issue over the last few years and the new chap just complements that. Like you say it’ll probably just be a case of he’s Enzo’s man.

When we sign the next Kante and he wants to leave after a year.

I think it's more about the culture that's established around the players and staff - we saw that under pearson, ranieri, little and o'neill, even to a degree under BR when we had so many u23 lads in the first team - it feels like they are bringing in people to create a whole new wave - KP2.0 as i like to think of it.  And it's clearly already starting to sweep through the fans, even the miserable kants on FT are starting to smile and believe again.  Just imagine how depressed we'd all be right now if it was Scott Parker's backroom team being announced (and i'm pretty sure we'd have struggled to entice winks and coady with some tired old manager in the hot seat!)

100% it feels the club is finally gaining identity, something we’ve lacked for a long time now.

I'm sure they speak better English than we speak that foreign stuff.

Or English, if FT is anything to go by.
