All you need is PowerPoint with some good sound effects

Feel like we still need the “been there, done it, knows the Championship inside out” type assistant/coach. I’m sure the new guys are good at their jobs, but the Championship is almost a unique league with the competitiveness, number of games and what’s at stake. Just someone who can offer Enzo the advice when things go wrong or those tricky away games could make a real difference.

Davies left us for Tottenham so that leaves us with currently:

Enzo Maresca - Manager

Roberto Vitiello - Assistant

Danny Walker - Coach

Michele De Bernardin - GK coach

Marcos Alvarez - Fitness

Javier Molina Caballero - Analyst

I would say we still need another coach but I am glad we have a designated fitness coach as our players were very unfit last year especially Tielemans.

I also would like a set piece coach. Knudsen was actually good at set piece defence coaching. We conceded a lot less of them once he joined.

Tielemans is just unfit in general. He was never a box to box player. He was always blowing out of his backside after 50mins.

Also has Vitiello even been confirmed? I don't think he has.

I think we are still one or two short.

Why? Two of the best on the planet are Lorenzo Buenaventura with Guardiola and Oscar Ortega with Simeone.

Besides, I’d imagine a lot of the current department including Matt Reeves will be sticking around.

Personal opinion mate. I’ve worked with a number of European ‘fitness’ coaches who frankly I’ve been bemused at the standard of their work considering where they had been in their careers, and the standard of the job they had at the time. They typically tend to be a managers man rather than a club appointment which explains it to some extent.

The term fitness coach tends to be an all encompassing title in Europe, very rare that the role is broken down into different disciplines as it is over here but I imagine he will lead developing the on-field physical capacities in line with Maresca’s tactical vision. Without knowing them personally I regard the staff at Leicester quite highly, those who I know who do know them speak extremely highly of them from a professional and personal view. I hope they are given a chance to rebuild their department to what they feel is best practice for the club considering the facility they have access to rather than have practices dictated to them.

I’m not going to write him off, I’ve bookmarked some of his interviews and content that he has put out and will give it a read/listen over the coming days. As I said I’m not keen, but more personal opinion than anything else. I’m sure I will be proven wrong.

Bit worried about the lack of experience there to be honest.

Compared to the last lot who had bags of experience but were nevertheless seemingly useless? Breath of fresh air required all round and a good healthy kick in the pants and refocus for a number of players.

I get that but I just think we could do with just one experienced coach.

To be fair though the players couldn’t possibly be any unfitter than they were last season  so it’ll still be a step forward .

I don’t disagree, but also feel responsible parties may have already departed.

Manager and back room staff have little experience.

Massive worry for me.

Will wait to see who the assistant manager is. The fitness coach, goalkeeper coach and 1st team analyst all have a good amount of experience.

Would just like a wise head as assistant.

Yeah it would be good if we could, Maresca has worked at a good amount of clubs so far with some interesting staff but it's often about timing as much as anything.

A few random points, not sure if they’ve been mentioned already.

GK coach coming in from Sampdoria so he will know winks.

Analyst spent 7 years at Barcelona and has left Atletico to join Enzo/Us which is decent!

Assume Matt Reeves stays as ever as another fitness S&C coach?

That is some good credentials from the analyst to join us.

And you'd think so, he's been here a while so I'm guessing he'd get a post rather than just disappearing

They seem to have a fair amount of coaching experience going back 6 to 8 years albeit quite a lot with some at academy or u23 level. However, at Manchester City, would that not be a little more progressive than what our lot have been in recent time. Our goalkeeping coach hardly seems to have improved anyone. As for fitness coach, did we actually have one or was he on holiday for the last 2 years?

There seems to be plenty of experience there to me both home and abroad. Whether some of our chumps are able to absorb or keep up is probably a bigger worry.

I'm sure they speak better English than we speak that foreign stuff.

De Bernadin telling Albrighton he’s needed for ‘one last job’ at QPR away:

Yeah, that's what I said. There's me putting my bag up in the cupboard next thing ya know, I feel hands on me. Someone's touched me, touched my front... my front bottom. I can't believe it, I've gone all cold. I look around, he standing there isn't he? That steward with the guilty look on his face. I was shocked, I didn't know what to say. I had to sit down, I was that perturbed. Then his mate, the other one who was giving us all lessons on what we do if we land in the sea. How to wear your life jacket etc; He starts off, he starts looking at my all funny... suggestive. Now I don't know if they're wanting me for a twosome or something, I don't know how they work it. But I'll tell you what, it scared me. I was shaking like a leaf, so without thinking I lit up a cigarette to calm me nerves. I was trembling, I was very emotional and that when all the rest of it happened. It's very regrettable. Now, I don't want to kick up a fuss, right, press charges... contact the British embassy. I'd rather not pursue those chanells, that's not my style. I'm not that sort of a bloke. I don't want to lose the man his job. Man's got to eat. And I'm sure he's not representive of all you Spanish people. But I would appreciate it if you had a word with him, let him know he's been rumbled. The one with the ginger hair.
