I think one thing that is under-appreciated by fans about Albrighton is that his crosses (and timing of those) are top class. He may not stand out (other than work rate) in other areas, this is something we cannot deny.

In order to succeed at the top level back in the EPL, we need particular qualities that stand out. Not average players like Hamza or Ndidi (now in his attacking mid role) that plays average football. This is why we don’t know how to break teams down. I rather we have Albrighton than Hamza for example, or Faes who yes may dribble and pass slightly better than your average CB but whose creativity is below an average. We cannot rely on average players to create. We need those first time accurate long balls from Albrighton. We need those smart intelligent runs from Vardy (who is top class). We need Winks who play better than most in his deep CM role. We need Ricardo who is a top class RB in his day who can excel in that inverted RB role. We need new CBs who can defend first and foremost in the PL which we do not have at the moment. I am comfortable with Fatawu developing into a special winger (not sure yet re our no. 10 but I can give him time).

What I want to say is I rather have someone with something special than an average player with average qualities over all areas. This is why I feel we are losing with Albrighton leaving and not appreciated. Without him, all our crosses (waiting for the defence to set up) into the box do not play to Vardy’s style.

He just knows when to get the ball in a dangerous area and that’s get it in quickly.  He doesn’t overthink and then have to try and skin players as he took too long to think about doing something.

You would hope our wingers would have had extra practice picking his brain on how to cross a ball.

Unacceptable we haven't even spoken to him; he deserves much better than this

Wouldn't read too much into it just yet, manager is putting his two pence in first, exercising a bit of power. He'll want to know budgets, obviously that's complex. So until everyone above MA knows where we and they stand, we probably won't make a decision and say anything until then.

He's clearly not at the top of the list to keep, but there are probably a few scenarios we may want to.

Yeh I think there is basically a chance we might need to keep him for the season and therefore it hasn’t been communicated that his contract is not being extended.

Marc said at the end of the trophy lift with Owynn Palmer-Atkin that he is 99.9% sure he's leaving at the end of the season.
Why would we keep him when even the man himself KNOWS his time is up having played seldom?

So he was saying there was a chance he’d stay then.
