The opinions are mixed.

The positive is that KP keeps their promises regarding the finances. A lot of foreign owners don't do that in Belgium. Recently clubs like KV Oostende and SK Deinze were declared bankrupt because their owners just stopped paying the bills. In the past clubs like Roeselare and Lierse suffered the same fate. Standard Liège, who are owned by 777 Group (who also wanted to buy Everton) are 70 million Euros in debt, so the are also in danger of bankrupcy. They are looking for a new owner, but who wants to buy a club with that much debt?

The negative is that KP seems absent when it comes to OHL. Apparently our board and KP/Leicester/Whelan/Rudkin have daily conversations over Skype regarding our club, but it's been years since Top has been in Leuven and attended a game. Before our board can make a decision they need the "all clear" from KP and more specifically Jon Rudkin. For example, our board wanted to part ways with Oscar Garcia in September, but KP/Rudkin refused to do so. Same goes for Marc Brys last season. Same goes for our former board members. We lost so much time because of the indecisiveness from KP/Leicester/Rudkin/Whelan.

I can't speak for all OHL fans, but I expected more from KP. I don't expect OHL to be a top club in Belgium, competing to win the league or qualifying for Europe every year, but we should've been a top-8 club by now. Sadly we are still a club that has to fight to not end up in the relegation play-offs.

So when it comes to KP, we could do a lot worse, but also could/should do better...

Thank you!

I would say a lot of that sounds very relatable.

My opinion in short: Happy for the support KP gives. We wouldn't have had the same accommodations without them. Ditto for filling up the debt pit every year. Unhappy for the lack of progress overall, the lack of independence... asking for permission from people in different countries if they have time to put an autograph in between the wedding and the wedding cake is just a joke, and the lack of passion. It started off well, but now it feels like we are run by people who don't really give a shit and just want to hold on to a legacy out of respect. We could be worse off since a lot of Belgian clubs are poorly run by their foreign board... but we are just stagnating at the moment because of a lack of vision.

hey, that sounds very very familiar. Is Rudkin still involved with you guys or did you get your own board that reports in to KP?

Rudkin and Whelan are on the board at OHL.

In fact, I believe they are part of the King Power” sports division, so also pick up

horse racing, Polo as well.

How much they’ll actually get involved I’m unsure.

I was going to ask this. After our game against Fulham Top didn't go back to Thailand and I noticed a jet straight after our game going to Brussels and returning after full time in your game.... i'd made the assumption he maybe attended a game or at least met with your board in person over the last week or so.

Perhaps he just went to meet Coleman.

No idea if he was at the game last night.

Assuming they mainly need to sign off on things (which can be a stumbling block, as Bonanza explained). Day to day operations and transfer are afaik handled by our CEO and the new sporting director (who, in my opinion, have done very well in the short time since they arrived).

On KP, I'm still convinced they're good for us. As Bonanza said, they're very good on the financial side, contrary to a lot of other Belgian clubs with foreign owners. And I'm still convinced that we will easily get a top ten spot this season, and even top eight is not out of the question. Only thing lacking right now is goals, defensively we're very stable but we need that bit of luck in front of goal.. Yesterday was a prime example of that, plenty of chances but got a ball cleared from the line twice.

Minor point in amongst these signings... but didn't you have a betting sponsor first half of the season? What's cracked off there?

No buy option I presume??

Correct, financially way out of our league unfortunately. There are talks about a possible extension for next season though, so fingers crossed on that.

Anyway, great win yesterday with ten vs twelve. Temporarily six points clear of the playdowns, and with some luck it stays that way.

Banned since January 1st.

Betting sponsors are permitted on the sleeve and back of the kit, but no longer on the front.
