I was saying to my dad last night at the game, it's what we've always complained about Forest. Living in the past with their European Cup.

It’s a bit different still rejoicing in something that happened 9 years ago, which many of us witnessed, than something that took place 45 years ago when many weren’t even born.

But did it? From what I’ve been told it was as flat as ever…… it’s all well and good encouraging positive passages of play, and positive substitutions, but this won’t impact the boards view and it certainly won’t make them think about any distant towards them.

Vocal negative chanting towards them will (not abusive chanting), and I maintain not going will hurt KP and the board a lot more than clapping a forward pass from an attacking player.

What is happening on the pitch, is merely a product of the amateur, and shocking decisions made off the field of play. Everyone is entitled to do as they wish of course, but my personal view is I see little benefit to the cause by going along and offering the off murmur of discontent, that isn’t propionate to this situation, the mistakes that are being made are possibly some of the worst decisions made at this level for a very long time, if not probably ever.

Going along and taking a free beer, buying a sausage roll or pie, and filling the seat merely shows KP that you’re behind them, and support their decision making and running of the club.

I personally do not, and as stated unless Top is prepared to sack his entire board room and appoint people who actually know what they’re doing nothing will change, and if he is not prepared to make these decisions then he needs to sell the club, because his time here is done, he has lost control of the club and has allowed those below him to run it is to the ground.

So, by not attending, it hurts KP more than a lot of people think, and I think is probably the most profound way to get the massage across.

Like any fan you are entitled to protest whichever way you want and not attending is a legitimate way of doing that. You didn’t address my real issue with your OP. To suggest that those of us who do attend should be ‘ashamed’ of ourselves for turning up, as you did in your original post, was unfair and plainly a wrong comment to make to fellow Lcfc fans.

It’s not, it’s the same. Lots of clubs play pre match videos, whether it be Forest or Leeds, but their fans don’t stand and clap it. I have genuinely only ever seen it at our ground as if it’s some sort of worship. And it is living in the past because those days are long gone but still the same people want to stand there and applaud it. Also this weird “weren’t even born” thing that is directed at Forest or Villa or Everton, of course these fanbases contain large percentage of fans that were born and witnessed their teams win multiple honours. It’s only 40 years ago, not 80.

It’s not the same. Football was in a completely different then. Nearly 2 generations have past. If people want to applaud the video, that’s their business not yours. You keep your hands in your pockets and the look of contempt on your face and others can just enjoy what was a wonderful time for this club, less than 10 years ago.

You're overthinking it. People aren't applauding winning the league, it's just a pre match ritual that people do without even thinking, not a big deal.

Clearly a lot of people on here find our fanbase a bit cringey which I can understand but they overestimate how much our fans' supposed passivity and acceptance has actually contributed to our on pitch decline, and also view other fanbase through rose tinted spectacles.

Sheffield Wednesday a good example. It’s only just about now the majority have started to rally against a total plonker of an owner

In that case, last 2 years and counting, are in the past. We’re celebrating a historic event for our club. If you think that’s naff, then that’s your opinion. I still every now and again, watch the highlights video of the title winning season. Should I be throwing the DVD away and never enjoy that pleasure again? I bet I’m not the only one who watches it now and again. Should we not listen to any music more than 2 years old as that would be living in the past. If you find it cringey then that’s a shame. We have very little to celebrate.
